The two Angels were walking ahead, whispering to each other, while Calum followed close behind. He could feel Ashton's disapproval and no matter how badly his mind screamed at him that he should feel bad he just couldn't bring himself to it. He didn't feel bad for technically forcing the Angel into this; his need to talk to Michael was bigger than any amount of guilt.

Since the Soul knew where Michael lived, he realized they were getting closer when the old cemetery came into view. He shuddered, a reflex from the thoughts that invaded his mind almost instantly. Somewhere behind that rusty door there was an old, marvel plate with his name and date of death on it. Calum's body was buried a few hundred feet away from him. The thought was disgusting.

The area around the cemetery was empty and only a few buildings stood close enough to have a view of it. It was expected; no person would choose to live there if they could avoid it. Except for his boyfriend, of course.

Most of the buildings there –apart from one, actually- were old and beaten up, with no signs of recent renovations or even an effort for improvement. Jasmine knew that there lived those who couldn't afford for something better, which meant they also couldn't afford to paint the walls or fix some holes. There was only one house that stood out in the street, a small two-story building that seemed bright new and completely out of place.

Michael's residence, although temporary, had to fit his personality and as a result his house was painted red from the floor to the ceiling. Dark red, with forest green windows in a neighbor full of faded grey or once white colors. Yep, that was definitely his boyfriend living there.

The Angels stopped outside the house and Calum thought his palms would start sweating. There was a small front porch from dark brown wood and, surprisingly enough, the front yard was spotless clean. There were no signs of grass or flowers or anything alive, but it wasn't a dumpster as Ashton had imagined it to be. Well, he had definitely seen worse.

"That's it. I can sense him inside." Ashton made a disgusted face at the dark vibes the house radiated and Jasmine next to him frowned in discomfort as well. The boy didn't care, he was mentally screaming. "I'm done here. Let's go home darling."

Just as he started pulling his wife with him Calum's weak voice made both of them to freeze in their spot. "Wait!" He squeaked, reminding himself of the boy he used to be before he met Michael. When he was younger, Calum used to be scared of his own shadow. At the age of thirteen, when he met Michael, the kid never spoke more than a couple of words each time. It was his boyfriend -firstly he was a friend- who helped him get out of his shell and face people. Michael taught him how to stand up for himself and fight for what he deserved; without him Calum was back to square one. "I can't do this alone."

"What? Of course you can!" the Angel laughed in disbelief. "He's in there, Calum, you can finally have your Demon back!"

"Ashton." Jasmine scolded him when Calum's head lowered even more in embarrassment.

The man glanced at his wife's judging face and then the boy's sad eyes before sighing. "Fine. Let's walk straight into the wolf's mouth. Whatever. It's not like we're risking both our lives and places in Heaven." He tried to remind her, even throwing his arms up in the air for extra effect.

"Oh shut up." Jasmine rolled her eyes and shoved him playfully. "You know very well you would have done anything to find me if you were in Calum's place."

"But you're not a Devil, Jas! There's a big difference! The guy sold his fricken soul!" he shouted this time, forgetting they were standing in the middle of a busy street and Calum was literally in arm's length. Only when Jasmine's eyes widened and she pressed her lips together did he realize his words. "Okay, I'm sorry." He sighed, somewhat frustrated knowing he could never win an argument with his wife. "What do you want me to do, Calum?"
