Mean Queen (Part 2)

                                    

                                          
I heard a loud beeping, signaling that Chat was about to change back. He handed me my earrings,"Put these on. I'll be back in a couple of minutes. Stay here!"






                          
He climbed up on top of the roof, jumping behind it swiftly. A bright flash of green showed he'd morphed back just in time. I put on the earrings, and started to sit up. "Marinette!" Tikki buzzed my face in a panic,"Stay down. You need rest!"




                          
"But I have to help Chat."



                          
I lifted the edge of my shirt to see a large bruise right where Chat had kicked me. There were two large gashes on my legs and a cut on my cheek. I groaned, dropping my shirt,"Tikki, no time for arguing. Spots On!"






                          
"Marinette! Please wait!" Tikki shouted as she was sucked back inside the earrings. I swung my yoyo, flying over the rooftops. I landed on the roof, looking for Chloe. An arm snaked around my waist, catching me by surprise. I jumped up, instantly regretting it as I felt the sharp sting of the bruise on my side. 



                          
"Marinette! What are you doing here! I told you to wait!" Chat's vibrant green eyes burned with frustration as they bore into mine.



                          
His eyes softened, as they stared into my own,"I-I just don't want you to get hurt again."









                          
Then, taking my by surprise, he pulled me into a hug, burying his face into my neck. "I can't lose you."









                          
"You won't lose me. Now, we have to figure out where Chloe's akuma is."






                          
"Wait. That's Chloe? I know who she's looking for."









                          
He took the ring, sliding it off his fingers. 









                          
The boy that stood in front of me was Adrien Agrest.










                          
 "I turned her down when she asked me to take her to the dance. I'm the one she wants."









                          
"Adrien, it's too risky."









                          
He winked,"Come on! Since when is Bugaboo afraid of a little challenge?"


















                          
Once we'd gotten down, we looked at the pink monstrocity that was terrorizing the town. She had something clutched in her hand, and I saw a gold shimmer radiate off her palm. "Her prom ticket! The akuma's in her prom ticket! Adrien, you distract her while I get her prom ticket."






                          
His eyes sparked with determination as he took off in her direction. "Lucky Charm!" A frisbee fell from the sky, landing in my hands. I looked at it oddly, before shaking my head,"I'll figure that out later."






                          
"Hey! Chloe!" I saw Adrien waving his hands in the air to get the girl's attention. She turned, shooting him a scowl. Taking the opportunity, I walked behind her, trying to grab the ticket. She grabbed her bouqet of roses, and threw one at him. An idea hit me,"Adrien! Catch!" I threw the frisbee, which he successfully caught blocking the rose from touching him. I grabbed Chloe's hand, ripping the ticket from her fingertips. I tore the ticket in half, watching as a darkened butterfly flew out of it.





















                          
After we'd caught the akuma, I heard a loud beeping in my ears,"Well, I gotta go."



                          
Adrien grabbed my hand,"You don't have to hide anymore." I nodded, pulling him with me as i ducked into an alley. I felt the loss of the suit as my earrings timed out.









                          
His eyes lit up in amazement, darkening as I turned away,"Marinette? What's wrong? Are you....disappointed that it was me?"



                          
I shook my head, my vision blurring from the tears that were building up,"I'm disappointed that it was me. That I'm  Ladybug. I'm just this clumsy, annoying, shy, helpless girl. I'm the one behind the mask, and I wish I wasn't." A tear rolled down my cheek, and I felt a hand grab my chin, gently turning my head.






                          
"I happen to think that the girl behind the mask is purrfect."
