"You're mad at me." Blake said, as we walked down the street to my house after detention. I didn't say anything back, I just kept walking.

My mind was going insane and I didn't know what to do. After what happened today I'm not sure if I can tell him.

"Come on, talk to me." He said. Should I tell him? Should I just get it out now? I mean we're alone. He's talking to me. It's now or later. I could just get it over with. Just stop arguing with yourself, Kinley.

"Blake, I like you. I like you so much. I've been freaking out all day trying to figure out a way to tell you. But I like you." I blurted out while we stood there at my doorstep. I instantly regretted it when I saw his face. He looked confused.

"I—I have to go." He said, backing away and walking to his house. Again, the tears filled my eyes. I just ruined my friendship with my best friend. God I'm such an idiot! What was I thinking?

I bursted through the door and ran straight up to my bedroom, collapsing onto my bed. I cried into my pillow. I'm such an emotional wreck.

"Kinley?" Hannah asked, slowly coming I to my room and sitting down next to me. "Today was horrible." I cried. "What happened?" She asked.

"Blake and Peyton th—they got into a fight and then I–I told Blake and and he ran off." I stuttered. "Kin, I'm sorry. He probably was just nervous. It's gonna be okay." She told me.

"How do you know that?" I asked her. "I just do. I was fourteen once. This happened to me actually. Crazy ex-boyfriend and the new boyfriend drama. I've been there. It gets better." She said.

"Can I be alone?" I asked. "Sure." She half smiled. Hannah got up and walked out of my room, leaving me alone.

As I layed there, I heard a knock on my bedroom door. I didn't bother rolling over to look, because I figured it was Hannah or maybe even my mom.

"Knock knock." I heard Blake say. I sat up and sighed. "Come in." I said. "Look, Kin. I'm sorry I ran off earlier. I was just so overwhelmed with everything that happened today." He said.

"It's okay. I understand." I half smiled. "But the truth is, I like you too. I've liked you for years. I just, I thought I made it so obvious up until you and Peyton got together. Then, I kinda stepped back." He explained.

"So what happens now?" I asked. "Honestly I have no idea." He laughed. "What's gonna happen to our friendship?" I asked. "No matter what, I'm gonna be here for you. Boyfriend or not, you're stuck with me forever." He told me.

"Promise?" I asked. "I promise. So do you wanna give this whole more than friends thing a try?" He asked me. "Only if you do." I said. "Of course I do." He laughed.

"Well I should go home. My mom was in the middle of yelling at me for fighting when I left." He said. "Bye." I chuckled. "Bye." He said, walking out of my room.

I layed back and smiled, biting my bottom lip. Then, Hannah came bouncing around my room. "What happened? Give me details." She squealed, pouncing on my bed.

"We're not dating, but we're gonna be more than friends. So I guess you could say we're talking." I told her.

"Awe! Baby sis is growing up!" She laughed. I laughed with her and then told her to get out. Yeah, nice right?

This whole thing has got me thinking...

Maybe I was put with Peyton for a reason. Maybe he was what was supposed to help me realize my feelings for Blake. I don't know, but he sure did do that.

Thanks for being a dick, Peyton.
