Chapter 114- Fearful and Alone

Start from the beginning

"Wanna come on a run with me?" I asked hopefully. She nodded and I looked at Hershel who was hobbling in.

"When Rick's done talking, tell him Allison and I went on a run." I asked. He simply nodded his head and I grabbed the pistol with the silencer. For some reason I felt as if I had no energy today.

I wasn't even sure if I could swing my sword. "Lets go." Allison said as she opened the door.

Maybe an hour later we were cruising down the road, the windows cracked open as Allison sped.

"We should grab some insulin for Tayler while we're out." I said, breaking the silence.

Allison nodded and sped up a bit "Ya, I know where we can go." She replied.

The rest of the car ride was silent. It wasn't a very long drive, it's just it was rather awkward cause we didn't have much to talk about.

Soon we were pulling up beside a tiny town. Several small buildings lined the road and I couldn't help but wonder about the people that lived here.

They all had lives, jobs, families. They were all human and trying to live, just like us.

I couldn't see a single walker whatsoever, this was so unusual it actually made me nervous to not see a dead person walking around.

"Where's all the walkers?" I asked suspiciously, looking around.

"I don't know, but do you want to grab insulin or formula first?" Allison asked.

"Insulin, definitely insulin." I told her, she nodded and walked towards a white building with a painted on red cross.

It looked maybe like a walk in clinic or a doctors office, either way theres going to be medical supplies.

We walked in and I loaded my pistol. The outside of this town was deceiving, the inside of this building was terrifying.

Random bodies laid around the floor along with dark red blood spots on the walls and floor. Bullet holes were every where and I cringed when several children laid on the floor, much younger than Carl.

The rotting stench from the bodies made my nostrils burn as we stepped over and around the bodies. The urge to vomit was so large right now, I had no idea how I was holding it in.

Allison tugged on my arm and we rushed through the room into the back.

She opened the door for us than shut it behind us. I looked over at her and she bent down and vomited.

I ran over and quickly pulled her tangled brown hair back. A minute later she was up and searching through bins.

I shrugged and started to help her. The room seemed to be a medical supply area, tons of different medicines and concoctions lined the shelves but I searched for only one kind.

"Found it!" Allison chimed out as she piled bottles of the clear liquid into a medical bag.

"Grab a few needles." I muttered, shivering at the word needles. She grabbed all the insulin possible and needles.

When she was finally done she zipped the bag up and slung it gently over her shoulder.

She nodded and I plugged my nose, we basically ran through the rest of the room.

We burst outside and I gulped in the fresh air, my lungs pleading for clean air.

After a minute of breathing in the air, Allison started to walk down the road. She reached the car and threw the bag into the back seat of the car.

"Formula?" I asked, glancing around us. She nodded and took a sharp right turn to a blue looking house.

She tried the door but it was locked "Help me with this please." She asked as she stood parallel to the door.

I nodded and stepped behind her "One, two, three!" We burst into the shop easily and darkness surrounded us.

Basically all the windows were bordered up and the furniture was tossed around like a maze.

"Stay alert." Allison hissed before climbing onto a couch. "What the hell are you doing?" I asked in confusion as I stepped forwards.

"Mariah, its booby trapped. Follow me and don't take another step forwards." She ordered.

I looked down near my foot and sure enough silver wire was strung up between the couches.

I backed away slowly and crawled onto the couch behind Allison. We crawled over top of the couches avoiding the booby traps below.

We made it to the end where a brown wooden door stood. Allison quickly turned the knob and pushed it open.

She dragged me to the ground and a thunking sound filled my ears. I looked up to see a wooden block and a bloody axe stuck together.

Allison stood up and we walked into the room. "The rest should be safe." She reassured. I nodded, but only to show I understood her.

If these people wanted to survive they would have the entire place booby trapped. I didn't trust it.

We walked down the hall and I made sure to watch where I stepped. "In here." Allison mumbled as she pushed the door open.

The room was rather light and you could easily see several cans of baby formula.

I smiled and started to stack the formula into the bag that Allison had brought.

"Hurry up, I want to get out of here." Allison hissed at me. I raised my eyebrow and stopped packing.

"Why?" I asked.

"Shit." She growled I turned around and the familiar cold barrel of a gun pressed against my skull.

I stared down the gun and looked to the holder. A little girl, with long blonde curly hair and the brightest blue eyes I've ever seen stared back at me.

Tears fell down her innocent face and she sniffled. She quickly ripped the gun away from my face and reached for my hand.

She pulled me quickly to my feet and I couldn't even react. This little girl, maybe around five years old had just held a gun to my head and now she was taking me somewhere.

I looked at Allison with worried eyes and she returned the look. The little girl opened a light brown door and pulled me through.

A woman laid sprawled on the floor, her neck area drenched in blood.

The little girl ran to the woman and shook her arm "Mama, I found help." She whispered to the woman.

The woman sat up and looked at us. "Please, help us."
