*Hayden's POV*

"Tyler?"

"Hey!" He comes and gives me a hug and then pecks a kiss on my lips.

"What are you doing here?" I ask, trying to sound happy.

Ty looks around, as if to make sure no one could hear, and then looks at me.

"I called and you didn't pick up, so I called Ally. She said your family was having dinner with Mr. Badboy. So I came to save you!" He says with a smile, clearly expecting me to feel the same.

"Why did you call Ally?" I ask.

He looks confused and then speaks.

"Because I wanted to know where you were."

"Why?"

"What's with all the questions? I just wanted to hang out."

"This dinner is important to my dad! You can't just come crashing in!" I scold.

"Your folks seem to be fine with me being here." He says.

I sigh.

"You don't have to know everything that's going on. Calling Ally was a step too far. You didn't have to come here."

"Sorry if I thought I could make you happy." He says with a newfound attitude.

"It's not that.. I'm just---"

"Um.. Hey." I hear a voice behind me say.

I turn around and sure enough, Aaron is standing there.

"Hi..."

"Hey. I'm Tyler." Ty introduces himself, holding out a hand.

"Aaron." He says, taking it.

"I told you to stay put."

"I'm not one for rules." He says, but there's no humour in his face.

"Where are you going?" I ask.

"Doesn't matter. But I'm leaving."

"Do your parents know?"

"They'll figure it out. I'm sure you could deliver the message."

"Wait---"

"I'll see you at school." He cuts me off, and leaves.

"Great." I mumble under my breath.

"It's fine. Wanna go upstairs?" Tyler asks.

Oblivious.

"No, not really." I say, while turning away and heading to the dining room where my mom is setting up for dinner.

"There you are! I was just going to call you for dinner."

"Mom... Aaron left." I say.

"What? Why?"

"I don't know."

She sighs.

"Well, I'll tell his parents. Tyler, would you like to stay for dinner?"

"Sure! Thanks."

I internally groan.

"I'm not feeling very well." I say.

"What's wrong?" Tyler asks me.

"I'm not sure... Maybe you should go. I'll call you later."

My mom isn't gunna be happy with how I'm acting.

But oh well.

"I could stay and help?" He offers, getting desperate.

"Tyler... I'll call you."

"Okay. Walk me out?"

"Sure."

I walk him to the door, and before he leaves, he wraps his arms around me and kisses me, as if his life was on the line.

But I feel nothing.
