She chose a few more and they ended up with three big bags. She chose almost 15 tops, 5 trousers, 3 blazers, three pairs of sandals and two hand bags.
"What are you doing?" he asked as she was checking her bag for her wallet.
"Card nikaal rahi hoon" she said taking out the card.
"Put it back dear" he said.
"Are we going to get these for free?" she asked.
"No, I am going to buy them for you" he replied.
"No Manik! you are not going to do that" she said.
"Yes Nandini! That is what I am going to do" he said.
"Then, I am not going to buy any of these" she said and walked out of the line.
"Oye suno" he said going behind her.
"Manik you know I don't like it" she said.
"Acha fine, let me pay for the two dresses I chose atleast" he said.
"You have your own ways" she said and joined back the line.
After the billing, they went to the cafeteria to meet Matt and Lucy.
"Oh my God!" was Matt's first reaction after seeing the bags.
"Are you planning on wearing a new dress every day for work?" he asked.
"Why is that a problem to you? As if you have any less?" she said pointing towards his bags which were 5 in number.
"Okay one out of the five is mine, and the rest are her's" he said.
"You came back with just one bag?" Nandini asked.
"Well, yeah" he replied.
They ordered for some food, and had it discussing about the travel and other changes that are going to occur, once they start working.
Post lunch, Matt dropped Nandini and Manik at home and left.
"So 3 more days and you will be gone for the whole day" he said. Nandini was setting her wardrobe with her new clothes and he was sitting on the bed, eating an apple.
"Are you sad?" she asked.
"I have mixed feelings! Well, I am happy that you got your dream job and that you'll start earning, get better things. But I am sad, you know I am so used to have you around and now to not see you for 8 hours during the day...huff sounds like I am in a big problem" he said. She left the clothes and came to him.
"Manik! I understand, infact the feelings are mutual. But darling, it's just for two months" she said sitting next to him.
"Two months...40 hours a week... which mean 880 hours a month times 2...oh my god nandini 1760 hours starting form Thursday" he said with a sad face.
