22 : Jealous! Jealous! Jealous!

                                    

                                          
Averyn's POV
                          
   I sat at our usual table in the cafeteria, eating my lunch in silence and discomfort because Darren stayed in silence and I could felt his stare on me. His arms crossed on the table, not touching his lunch. I didn't want to start the conversation or even apologize because I didn't do anything wrong. In fact, I didn't know why he acted like that with me.
                          
   Helen dropped her lunch in front of me, looking at both us with frown as she noticed the air in the table filled with tension."What's wrong with the silence? Did you guys fight?" she asked as she sit. I pouted, glancing at Darren. "Ask him. I don't know what's wrong with his sudden mood," I said, continue eating.Daren cleared his throat, tapping his fingers on the table as he started talking.
                          
   "She cheated in front of me." I looked at him with frown. 
                          
   When did I cheat?Oh,no way.He didn't mean about my conversation with Nathan,right?
                          
   "Seriously?" I asked him with narrowed eyes. "Yes." I sighed,pushing my half-eaten lunch as I turned my body to face him. "You always jump into conclusion,right?" I barked.
                          
   "Then, why didn't you reply my text afterwards? You felt guilty because I caught you red-handed,right?" I rolled my eyes with his statement. I shifted my eyes to Helen who tried hiding her smile."Helen, Nathan asked me either you're still single. He wants to be friend with you, not flirting with me as accused," I stated, glancing at Darren. I found Darren's hand placed on mine, rubbing slowly as he apologize for his words. I crossed my arms,cleaning my back to chair. "Darren looks jealous as hell! Wait, Nathan?" Helen chuckled. I nodded my head, not looking at Darren although he scooted closer beside me, side-hugging me. I saw Helen started blushing, while Darren whispered sorry at me, his breath fanning my ears and I swear I felt butterflies in my stomach. Damn!
                          
   He pouted as I didn't response anything, and sighed. I hid my smile seeing his childish action."Damn! I'm sorry okay? I-I-I just," he stuttered before sighing, didn't finished his sentence. "Jealous," Helen chirped with a grin. Again, I rolled my eyes. He placed his hand on my cheek, turning my face to look him. His eyes stared at mine, and I felt my stomach been twisted. What's this feeling?
                          
   "Sorry, okay?" he pleaded. I bit my lower lips as I felt the weird feelings elaborated, sweating my palms. To end it quickly, I just nodded my head. He smiled,giving me a peck on lips. My heart beat faster and I could hear the loud thumping. I distanced myself from him, taking out my phone and start playing with it with shaking fingers, waiting the lunch end.

   I was playfully poking Darren's waist as we walked out from the school hallway when a blonde girl approached us. She looked like a nerd type with her big glasses, but still couldn't hide her own beauty.She held her bag's strap tightly,waving her hand as we stopped in front of her. "H-H-Hi. I'm Jennifer," she introduced herself. "Hi!" I said with a smile. She didn't respond at me, instead she turned her blue eyes on Darren.
                          
   "I have something to talk with Darren actually," she cleared.Sensing that she didn't want me around, I started to distance myself when Darren's hand wrapped around my wrist, stopped my action. I looked at him with frown. "She's my girlfriend so she needs to know too," he cleared. Jennifer bit her bottom lip nervously. See? She doesn't want me here. "It's not a proper thing to say in front of her," she stated.
                          
   I was in dillema either I should walk away or stay. I mean, I didn't want to make anything more awkward ."Just go on," Darren stated. His hand still holding mine.Jennifer sighed."IlostabetsoIneedtomakeyoukissme," she blurted with closed eyes. I hardly could fathom what she was talking about but I coukd catch some words. Lost, bet, you, kiss."Talk slowly," Darren exclaimed.She took a look of me before saying. "I lost to a bet made by my friends. They asked me to have a kiss with you. Or else something bad will happen."
                          
   Damn. She didn't look like in acting. She looked terrified. I saw a group of students sneaking behind bushes, their attention on us. I guessed it were Jennifer's friends. Darren looked at me in confuse. I let out a deep breath,nodding my head and release my hand from his grip.cI stood few steps away from Darren and Jennifer, crossing my arms. I watched Darren sighed before grabbed her face nervously, and their lips met. I shut my eyes as my heart beat faster while my stomach getting twisted. I turned my heels and started walking home, leaving Darren.
                          
   Damn! I guess I really in love with him because I felt jealous seeing him kiss another girl. Damn it!
