Chapter 3

Sang's POV

Melinda woke me up about 15 minutes before we needed to leave. I got up and she handed me some clothes. Before I could even ask what she was giving me she told me.

"It's your blue Captain America tank with your red white and blue star shorts."

"Thanks, but do I have any other shorts with pockets that will match? I don't want to have to carry a bag around all day," I ask her.

"Umm, I found your black and pink shorts. They have pockets," she tells me.

"Those will work. Thank you Melinda," I tell her. She helps me get my clothes on in the right direction. If I didn't have her, I probably would have put everything on backwards.

"Which shoes do you want," Melinda asks me.

"Umm, did we grab my gray, black, and pink shoes," I ask. They are kind of like Toms, but they are a different brand and are a softer material with memory foam in the bottom.

"Right here," she says as she hands them to me.

"Yay, now I don't have to worry about my shoes falling off on any of the roller coasters," I say.

After we are both dressed, we grab our small backpacks that have snacks for the car ride. Melinda leads me out to her car and we head to school. We get out and I can hear that some of the others are already here.

"Hey you two," someone calls. I can't tell whose voice because there are too many people around.

"Hey Becca," Melinda calls back letting me know who it is.

"You guys excited," Becca asks, her voice closer now.

"Hell yeah," I exclaim. I'm trying to act as if nothing is wrong.

"You guys are leading the convoy. I think everyone is here," Becca tells us.

"Sweet does everyone have a full tank of gas? We don't want to stop more than we have to," I question.

"As far as I know yes. Colton has the walkie talkies. He'll bring yours over in a minute. Right now we have six cars," Becca informs me.

"Who is driving," I ask. It's helpful to know so we can keep track of everyone. I was the main planner and leader in this. We are supposed to be in school but we're ditching.

"Colton, Tyler, Angel, Katie, me, and you," Becca lists off.

"Actually Melinda is going to drive for me. I'm having trouble with my contacts," I tell Becca.

"Ok. Well let's get our walkies and let's hit the road," she says excitedly. We walk over to what I'm going to assume is Colton's truck and he hands me a walkie. He catches everyone's attention and yells, "Let's hit the road!" Melinda and I get into her car and I reach for where I think the radio is. I find the button and turn it on. It's already playing my favorite station. I roll my window down all the way, and judging by the airflow I'm guessing that Melinda has done the same. I hear the other vehicles following. I can tell that they did the same thing as me with the music and the windows.

"Are we all listening to the same station," I ask over the walkie. After getting multiple replies I discovered that we were.

It took about three hours to get to Cedar Point. I was bored and anxious to get out of the car. Normally I would read on long car rides, but that was impossible right now. My phone had buzzed quite a bit. Melinda told me it was my mom, and I said to ignore it. I eventually just turned it off. When we finally got to the park I was practically out of the car before Melinda could park. We had managed to find six spots in a row so that we could all park together. Melinda helped lead me to the entrance where we met up with the others. Becca had went to the window to get our tickets. She handed them out to us and we went in. As predicted we all split into groups. I stayed with Melinda.

"What do you want to do first," she asks me.

"I don't care. Pick one and we'll work our way around the park," I tell her. She leads me to a line.

"It's the Raptor," she tells me quiet enough so that the people around us can't hear.

It took some time, but we made up to the front. The ride was so much better than I had remembered. We worked our way around the park riding everything we could. We split chicken strips and fries at about 1. By 6 we were exhausted.

"There's still one ride we haven't ridden yet," I tell Melinda.

"Please tell me you're talking about the carousel," she says.

"That wasn't what I was thinking of, but you are right. I was thinking of Valravn," I tell her.

"Why do you want to go on that so bad? That thing is insane," she tells me.

"It's only broken 8 records and set 5 more park records. Can we please go on it," I beg.

"Fine, but only because I can't let you go by yourself," she tells me.

"Thank you, thank you, thank you," I squeal while jumping up and down.

"Calm down," she says.

"Afterwards we'll ride the carousel before we leave," I promise to her.

"If we have time. It says the line for Valravn is and hour and a half long and we need to meet the others at 8," she says.

We get in line and wait forever to ride Valravn. When it's finally our turn I am bouncing with excitement. Melinda helps me with the buckle and then we are off. I can feel the coaster going up the hill. We stop at the top, and I know how high up this thing is. It pauses for a few seconds, and then we're dropping. We fly through the loops and turns, until we go up to the second drop. It pauses again before dropping us. The ride is over too soon.

"That was fucking awesome," I yell to Melinda as we walk to the carousel.

"That was crazy. I don't know how you like that," she teases me. I know she doesn't like doing crazy stuff as much as me, but I do know that she was having fun today. We ride the carousel and then meet up with the others. Once everyone is gathered we get in our cars to drive home.
