Fifteen years later

The past few years were spent treasure hunting with Nathan and my grandfather Sully. Nathan and I have become closer to each other over the years, becoming sister and brother. However, non of us dared to mention about Sam's death. We never talked about it at all. Rafe was never to be seen at all after Panama, thank god.

After meeting Elena, Nate decided to settle down which made me happy for him. The first year, Nate and myself were in touch for majority of the time, but another year and we stopped talking for awhile. I stopped some of my jobs with my grandfather and decided to settle down myself, alone.

I woke up yet to another nightmare, of Sam. My body was covered in cold sweat, I looked out the window and the sun was not out yet. I swung my feet off the bed, touching the soft carpet, and rubbed my face, sighing. I looked at my digital clock to see that it was only 5:05 am.

I walked slowly to the bathroom turning on the lights and wincing from the brightness, after brushing my teeth and a nice steamy shower, I wore my black leggings, blue sweater and boots.

I tied my hair in a tight ponytail and instead of having breakfast, I opened the bottle of vodka and took a shot. As I was grabbing my bag, I glanced up to see a photo of Sam and myself. His arm was around my waist and I was hugging him sideways, at the back, Nathan was photobombing. Sam and myself were happy, we were smiling and so was Nate.

I grabbed the frame and pushed it down on the table, it made me feel more sad the more I look at it.
I left my small one bedroom apartment and locked the door. I put in my headphones and rode my motorbike, ready to get to work.

-------

After a hard day at work, instead of going to the bar I decided to go back home and enjoy my own company. It was already midnight, going to the bar at this hour would only be the death of me.

Before turning on my motorbike, a memory popped in my head and a smile creeped up on my lips. I remembered when Sam first gave me a ride around on his motorcycle when we were younger. How we stopped for ice cream and watched the sunrise.

But Sam was no longer here anymore, Sam will never come back. Sam is gone. Sam is gone, Scar. With that, I turned on my motorbike and drove myself home.

----

Reaching my apartment, I took out my keys from my bag and slipped it in the key hole. I opened the door to find my apartment drowning in the dark, my eyes haven't adjusted yet to see anything clearly. The only light that helped was the moonlight shining in the balcony.

Before I could turn the lights on, the presence in the room made its self known. "You should always keep the balcony closer, Scar. What'd I tell you before." The voice was very familiar to me, yet I couldn't put my finger on it.

I turned on the lights and looked behind me to find a man beside my table. He took the frame and looked at the picture of Sam and myself, he propped it up properly on the table.

He wore a denim jacket and jeans, all I could see was his back. He smelled of smoke too. Before I could move to get my gun, the man turned around and smiled genuinely. "Hey, Scar."

I gasped and blinked my eyes a couple of times. "I really need to stop drinking." I whispered to myself as the man approached me slowly. It can't be him, I watched him get shot and fall to his death.

Sam snapped his fingers in front of me to grab my attention. "Hey, hey, you still with me?" It really is him. "S-Sam?" My tears weld up in my eyes, I jumped onto Sam and hugged him tightly.

"Oh my god, it really is you." I buried my forehead into the crook of his neck, hugging him tightly. I took in his musk and his cigarette smell. "Who did you think it was? My ghost?" He commented sarcastically.

"But I- I saw you get shot and--" Before I could continue, he cut me off. "I did get shot, the "doctors" patched me up and threw me back into the cell." He lifted his shirt to show the three gun shot wounds.

"Jesus, Sam..." I touched the wounds lightly with my fingers. "But, Nate and I we made calls and--" Once again, Sam cut me off and explained.

"He told me. We killed a guard Scar, they were gonna let me rot in there forever, I was going to." While he was talking, I realized tattoos of birds on his neck, he took notice.

"Got that in prison." He commented with a grin. I took a deep breath in, taking everything in. "You alright? You're not gonna faint on me are you?"

I chuckled at his comment and walked towards the balcony. "I just might.. I need some air." Sam followed me to the balcony and leaned next to me, lighting one of his cigarettes.

"H-How did you find me?"

"Well, I ah... Tracked Nathan down along with you, and to make sure where you really were, I asked Nathan and he lead me here." He inhaled. "You really move a lot." I chuckled at his comment.

I took a good look at him, his face structure changed. He had more wrinkles than he used to, but it isn't a bad thing. His hair line went wider too. "Nathan told me about all the adventures you guys went through." He said amazed. "So you've heard."

"Did you guys really do that?" He said amazed once more. After talking about our adventure and the things that he has missed, Sam filled me in on the details about alcázar.

"Are you in, sweet cheeks?" I crossed my arms and raised my eye brow. "Always count me in, Sam Drake." I said in a threatening but humorous tone with a small grin on my face. "That's my girl." He kissed my temple.

Sam Drake always waltz in back into my life, even coming back from the dead.
