We walk out of the building and turn on the flashlight the teachers gave us. Dylan holds it as I hold Sam's hand and keep him by my side,in between me and Dylan. We have been walking for about four hours,in tell we finally stop to break. We go into a home town garage that we found, and lay Sam down on a padded a sleeping bag we found. The garage is small with nothing but a toolbox inside, and a candle. I walk over to the candle and light it with the lighter Dylan gave me. After I light it I bring it over to where we sit. Sam has fallen asleep quickly, but me and Dylan refuse to sleep, not knowing what we should be hiding from. I look at Dylan and ask, what's bad and what's good? I don't know, when we get to your house we can us the radio and find out. But people are most likely bad too, because the stealing, and killing. Dylan says. Yeah, but how do we protect our selfs with no weapons,I ask. We can look in the toolboxes for something,he says.

Dylan walks over to the toolboxes to look for a weapon. When he comes back he has a screwdriver. That's all it had,he says. Then you should keep it,I tell him. He nods and says you should get some sleep,I lay by Sam and fall asleep quicker then I thought I would. When I wake up I don't see Sam or Dylan. I quickly get up and run to the open garage door. As I walk out it, I see them coming with a few apples.

When they arrive I ask them, why didn't you wake me up,and tell me? You needed the sleep and we thought the apples would be good with the dry cereal,Dylan says. I look at the apples, they do look good but we can't eat them,we don't know if their safe. I shake my head, don't eat them they might not be safe,I say and take the apples and put them in my bag. Dylan nods as he passes around a box of dry cereal and we eat it. After we eat enough we start to walk towards my home, which is a good seven blocks away.

We finally arrive, when Sam see's the house he trys to run to it but I hold him back. Fearing he might see something horrific. I ask Dylan to stay here with him as I go to look inside. I walk in the broken back door,as I walk I try to avoid the broken glass everywhere. I also try not to panic as I see it. I go to the kitchen, and all through the house looking for my mom and dad. I walk into the living room and fall to my knees,as I see my mom and dad's dead bodies laying on the ground. I put my hands over my mouth and cry,I curl up into a ball beside my mom,and close my eyes. I feel soft hands grab my arms and carry me outside,Dylan lays me on the soft grass and hugs me. I open my eyes and see Sam crying with his teddy bear in hand. I grab him in a hug,we are both crying and Dylan joins in the group hug keeping us both up. I notice he is crying to,so I part and ask, what's wrong Dylan? He looks away and says,I went to my house while you were in the house. I saw my parents torn to pieces in the kitchen,he says. I put my hand over my mouth to keep from crying more but fail. I put my head against his chest as I hug sam,and cry.

After we are finally done crying me and Dylan go in and get my parents bodies and his parents bodies to the back yard of my house. We dig holes for the bodies as Sam sits with his bear by the porch. After we are done,we bury them, and stand over the Graves and pray. I hold Sam's hand and Sam holds Dylan's hand.

I walk upstairs to my room and get my big hiking bag and fill it with comfortable clothes. After I pack cothes I change into a black, long sleeved shirt, with a dark, blue sweater over it. I keep the same jeans on,but change my vans into hiking boots. I go down to my brothers room and get his warmer clothes and coat. Sam,come here,I yell for him. When he comes I put a pair of warm jeans on him,and a long sleeved shirt, with his big coat on. He puts his hiking boots on by himself,as I go to the kitchen to get all the food. I pack as much food as I can hold as Dylan walks in. Where are we even going,he asks. I don't know but we can't stay here obviously,I say,we could listen to the radio and see if there are safe zones. Yeah, let's do that,he says.

Before we leave the house we turn on the radio to hear the news. I am sitting on the couch with Sam,as Dylan stands against a wall. I flip through about seven stations and am about to give up when I find one. Sam touches my hand to tell me to stop, and I do and listen. The static makes it hard to hear but I hear parts. It says,zombies....warning zombies...warning raiders....warning zombies. Stay in.... zombies...safety....northbound highway seventy-three....need people with skills. Then it turns off,I look at Dylan and see a small bit of hope that I was dieing to see from someone. I guess we're heading there? He asks. I look at Sam and nod. We get up and pack the radio and walk to the door.
