Jamal's POV:

I chilled out with Ne'veah for the rest of the day at home while she was taking care of me. I really didn't need any help tho, but she was too stubborn to leave. I had a lot of things on my mind, right now. I don't know why, but...every time I'm around her, I get this weird feeling. I thought I was getting over anything involving us, but...for some reason, I can't seem to get over her. That song we did kinda reminded me of when we were kids. It actually felt so...real...

I looked over to her was I sat near my large window into the night in my wheelchair. She was sleeping soundlessly on the couch, slowly breathing softly. I smiled at her.

She's perfect....

After Cookie told me what happened to her since I was in the hospital, even everything she did to make time out of her schedule to see about my well-being and place aside her career for me, I felt more guilty than ever. I had seriously took advantage of her, and all this time she wanted be there for me and love me. I really admired her for actually caring about me dearly, but I was completely worried over her slight depression. I can't believe she went through all of that because of me...

I turned my wheelchair and approached to the couch she was sleeping on. I stared at her with determination and moved forward to press my hand on her cheek, making her smile a little and going back to sleep beautifully. My heart fluttered a little at this gesture, which I don't know why. I never felt like this with Michael or even D-Major surprisingly.

I can't believe that she's thinking of leaving Empire, though. I thought she loved it there with us...with me mostly. I don't what I would do if she left...or when she left.

I sighed, getting frustrated.

Why do I keep feeling like this with her? It just seems all wrong, but it feels so right at the same time.

I hesitantly kissed her on the forehead and sat back with a genuine smile.

"I see you care very deeply for her." A familiar voice came through. I turned to see my father, with a smirk on his face.

"Hey Mal." He continued.

"What are you doing here?" I said with no emotion, going back to the window and ignoring his remark.

"Why is Ne'veah here at your house? It's almost midnight." Dad said suspiciously, wanting to know the deep connection between Ne'veah and I lately.

"She came here to make sure I was okay and she overslept. I let her sleep here, now what do you want?" I tell him, avoiding the subject.

"I came because I went to see Freda today."

I stayed silent for a moment.

"What'd she say?" I asked.

"Not much to me. She was, uh, stubborn till the end. I offered to help her with her legal representation, but she refused." Lucious said.

I sat there for a moment in silence and moved my wheelchair near my keyboard.

"It's 'cause she has integrity, Dad." I replied bluntly. Lucious remained silent for a moment and finally spoke,

"Yeah, well, she accepted it."He replied, giving us a moment of silence.

"She wanted me to give you something." Dad pulled out a flash drive and handed it to me. I grabbed it from him silently.

"And just so you know, I ended the cycle today. She ain't mad no more." He said. I looked down at the flash drive with no emotion.
