It was impossible to wake Ashton.

His heart beat kept going down and Luke kept bringing it up. Caius didn't seem to give up and he kept trying to kill Ashton in his dreams.

"You need to search better." Luke stepped outside once he felt Liam stepping into his ground.

"I searched. I told you, if he wants to stay hidden, it'll be hard to find him."

"Youre going to watch him die if you won't find him soon." Luke leaned on the railing.

"I'm fucking trying." Liam spat.

"You find him, and I'll take care of him."

"Define take care."

"Kill."

"If you think I'll let you kill my fath-"

"I will."

"Luke you fucking-"

"You're forgetting you're in my house. Again." Luke narrowed his eyes.

"You think you can use Ashton against me and then threat to kill my father?" Liam folded his arms, looking at Luke with anger in his eyes.

"Yes."

"The fact you're a vampire-"

"Yes it is. The stronger survive."

"By saying it, you say Ashton is not supposed to be among the living."

"He's with the stronger now,"

"No he's not. Have you told him your kind was the one to destroy the shell?"

"I did."

"Did you tell him your part in it?"

"If you want me to keep him alive, some things better stay unsaid."

"You see my point, then?"

"A bit pointless but I see it."

"Have you even tried waking him today?"

"Yes." Luke rolled his eyes.

"We both know the solution." Luke glared at him.

"And that is?"

"Killing Caius."

"I can solve this differently-"

"Spare me your second chance speech. Caius is a moster who can't be stopped."

"So are you."

"Right now, I'm the only thing keeping Ashton from dying."

"The only reason he's not letting Ashton wake up-"

"I'm up."

Ashton stood by the door, shirtless and without the cuts on his stomach.

"Ashton?" Liam's mouth dropped.

"What?" Ashtons tired eyes met Liam's eyes, but it was just for a short moment.

"How are you feeling?"

"I'm hungry." He replied and they both just stared at him, not realizing how its possible.

"Ashton you were dead." Liam started.

"I was?" Ashton's eyes grow.

"You were attacked and then you just didn't woke up."

"Okay," Ashton spoke slowly.

"Its because of Caius. He controled you through your dreams." Luke spoke this time.

"I'm not following." He glanced to both of them.

"He made you sleep walk and arrange that some wolves will be around to kill you. And then he kept killing you in your sleep."

"And I came back?" Ashton looked up at him.

"With a lot of help, but yes." Luke replied.

"Why would he want to kill me?" Ashton looked at Liam now.

"He doesn't want you to lead to him."

"But-"

"I can help you fight this, Ashton." Liam spoke again.

"Fight the dreams?"

"Yes. Right now the only danger is when you sleep.

It didnt took long for Liam to leave and keep looking for Caius again. Ashton consume everything to himself quietly. He stared at the window and the bad weather that only seemed to get worse the more the night came.

"My own biological father wants me dead. Does it get any worse?" Ashton spoke when Luke sat beside him.

"Don't worry about it."

"Liam is right."

"About what?"

"You can't protect me. Too many will be after me including Caius himself."

"I thought I told you I'll take care of it." Luke spoke a bit impetiantly.

"Why would you?" Ashton looked at him now.

"Because I want to keep enjoying your company." Luke leaned to his neck and sniffed, not admitting the real reason.

"Caius is strong. Liam told me that when we were at the woods."

"So?"

"So.."

"You think he's stronger then me?"

"Maybe."

"He's not."

"Aren't you scared? Dying in the process?"

"None of us is going to die." Luke pulled away and his mood was gone by now because of Ashton's worry.

Ashton stood up and left the living room. He walked upstairs to take a shower and after he was done, he tied the beanie back to his head again, pulling his hair back.

He stood infront of the mirror and couldn't understand how he healed completely.
