AN So micharl makes an appearance in this chapter, and I know his role isn't really suited to his personality, but the character I gave him works with it, so let's just roll with it, huh? This one is a lot more graphic than the other chapters so just be aware of that. I'm trying to think of a place to go with my story line, so my chapters are a little shorter than usual. Just be weary, enjoy loves xx

Warning: v abrasive language bc michael is in here lol sorry

Calum's POV

Y/N and I were standing outside the door while Ashton erased me from the database. Ashton had announced that there was just five more minutes left and we were free to go. Somehow, our lans were foiled, and Y/N was aprehended by some dude in a suit with jet black hair, and I was grabbed from behind. I was staring at her, and all of a sudden we were taken. "Shut your fucking mouth and wait for a lawyer!" I shouted before I was taken away.

They bought me to a room, and it was dimly lit. I felt the drips of the cold damp stone walls around me. The taste the room left in my mouth was disgusting. I pulled against the cuffs once, then twice, then shook them furiously. I was never getting out of here alive. I was never to see Y/N ever again, or smell her hair as she wakes up next to me. I was never going to be intimate with her.

I stared at my hands, furiously playing with my fingers when a man stepped in. "Oh man," he said with an eerily laugh. "You have no fucking idea how hard I've been trying to get you. How I've been effortlessly trying to catch you, to take you away. I finally have you now, Hood. And there's nothing your little buddies can do about it now."

I said nothing, just stared at him, with my head bowed. I've never felt such a hatred for someone in my life. My heart rate was increasing with my rage, and I felt the uncontrollable urge to kill.

"Pardon me, I forgot to introduce myself. I'm Clifford, I've been the one working your case all these years," he told me with a sneer. "You thought we all forgot about you as soon as you were erased from our system, but you were fucking wrong about that. Every erase, every heist, every innocent person you murdered just added you closer and closer to the top of Australia's most wanted list."

I continued to say nothing. Wasn't I entitled to a lawyer? My knuckles turned white as I squeezed the chain my handcuffs were connected to.

"We've been looking for you for years, and we finally catch you, how?" He pointed to the wall where supposedly another room was. "That little girlie in there led us right to you. It was a bread trail, Hood and you fucking fell for it, you dumbass."

It was a lie, as is everything that comes from the government. Eat your vegetables, they say. But what do they put in the vegetables? What's the most expensive food on the market for a consumer? Healthy food. The food that's good for you is the one you pa for. The one you can afford is the one you're addicted to. The entire government is a hoax. This man before me probably wasn't even a trained police officer.

"I suppose you're wondering what exactly you're charged with. Well, you know, apart from the obvious. Trespassing, breaking and entering, stealing government files. Let's see, what do they call it when you're acting against your country's best interest? Oh that's right, treason."

I looked away from him. What did I care that I was acting against my country. It was one that did me wrong anyway. It took my parents away, sent me to terrible foster care homes. I didn't care about my country anymore than my country cared about me.

"How many people have you murdered, Calum?" he asked me suddenly. This brought my attention back to him. I squinted at him. What kind of dumb fucked up question is that? "There's the obvious, the ones we got you for. The bodies we found, but there seems to be more, always more. They're turning up all over the country. All with your signature."

I sneered at him silently as he stared me down. The guy as manic. His leg was bouncing up and down, his eyes a wild shade of ebony green. He stared me down until I felt like less of a man than I've ever been. A scared virgin with no heart.

"We've uncovered twenty people, Calum. That's enough for twenty life sentences. You know what that means right? Any more people you give up, won't let you spend any more of your life with us than we already have you for. More people wouldn't hurt."

I ignored his proposition. Unless they had hard physical evidence, they couldn't link me to shit. They have no witnesses, I made sure of that. They have no record of what I did. It's the government's word against my own. My dark eyes remained in their cold state.

"God dammit!" he shouted, kicking over the chair. I didn't flinch. He thinks freaking out on me is going to break me? He forgot about the hellish childhood I endured. He took a deep breath and calmed himself before brushing his dark dark hair out of his eyes. "One moment."

"Paul, will you grab the papers? Paul? Paul what the fuck are you doing? Put that down! Paul, just grab the fucking file folder! God dammit, Paul I swear. If you weren't my cousin, I'd fire you." He came back in the room and set the massive file on the table. "How unfortunate is it for you that we kee everything in paper. It took forever to get wat we scavenged, but it's mostly everything, that we have anyway. Not everything is digital, mate."

He laid the file out, opening it up and spilling its contents. He laid it out for me to see, every picture of every girl I've brutally murdered. Every guy I've taken the life from, every hooker that dared ask me if I was alright. I was never alright.

"2012, girl found dead by the riverside, her wrists slashed, and her eyes gouged out. Perth. 2013, girl found bloody and beaten in the dumpster, her wrists slashed, Melbourne. 2014, guy found in someone's garden, their garden for fuck's sake, his wrists slashed, and his throat slit. Your signature of the slashed wrists, now is that a stab at yourself, or do you just genuinely hate wrists."

I lunged for him, to attack him, in my sudden rage, but my wrists were kept chained. This guy had no business judging me like this, I was already a terrible critic of myself.

"Twenty bodies found, not even a count that is accurate. You've done well, Hood. Especially convincing that girlfriend of yours in there to stick up for you." He gave me a smirk, like he knew he hit a nerve.

"She's not my girlfriend," I barked. The first words I utter, and Y/N's to blame. Of course.

"Fine, hooker, I could really give a shit. What I don't understand is why none of them are sexually assaulted. For a big killer like you, you'd think you'd need more dominance."

"I only kill the people that deserved it," I growled at him.

"Tell me, what exactly has a 60 year old woman done to deserve your wrath you fucking cock sucker."

"She yelled at someone for bagging her groceries wrong," I admitted. "People shouldn't do that."

"People also shouldn't murder twenty plus people, and look where you're at now. Shivering in your own chicken shit chair, staring at your life's work. Does this make you proud?"

I squinted my eyes at him. I could really care less what he thought of me. The only opinion I've ever cared about is Y/N, and she's in there and I'm in here, and there's nothing I can do. I can't save her this time. I felt so helpless.

"You don't even have a heart to ache for the people you murdered," he laughed humorlessly. "Don't give me the fake sympathy bullshit puppy look. I know who you are, and you can't fucking fool me, you worthless piece of gum in the ath aisle of a Target."

"Your insults are really encouraging me to speak up about what I've done, but I'm geting tired of seeing your face. I'd like to talk to a lawyer now."

Clifford's face fell into a glare. He stood up, abruptly, and stared at me with absolute disgrace. "No wonder your mother never loved you." He walked out, and I could hear him screaming and yelling outside the doors. I smirked knowing I could have that effect. As I always did.

He came back in with a sly smirk on his face. He examined every inch of my ace before getting closer and closer to me. "The gig's up, cunt muncher. Your little slut just told us everything." He booped my nose before laughing and turning around to go back outside. My face was expressionless. I had no words, no thoughts. All I felt was pure rage, and whatever affection I had for Y/N had vanished.
