Tatsuya's P.O.V

I sighed, not my first and certainly not my last sigh. I was in class and no I was not sighing for those typical teenager reasons like not having a date to a dance or not doing homework that was due.

No, in fact most of the time I enjoyed school and was very good at it, but then again most of the time the teachers, students and other administrative members weren't speaking a language that I couldn't understand.

I had been enrolled at Ouran Academy for two weeks.

Two very long weeks.

I was told half a year before I transferred that I was going to a school in a foreign country.

My mom, the amazing lawyer that she is, expected me to be just a proactive as she was.

Let me start by saying that this is no easy feat.

My mom graduated from college with a masters degree in international law.

She was top of her class a spectacular achievement in and of itself, not to mention that she put herself through college.

No support from my father.

From the stories that she told me about their relationship I could deduce a few things.

A. He was very frivolous
B. He was very busy with his work
C. He was (and I'm not going to mince words here) rich, filthy stinking rich.

She would always tell me these stories about the extravagant, over the top, decadent presents he would get her.

Like one time early on in their marriage when my mom got the flu and my dad sent so many roses to her hospital room that the doctors could barely move around to do checkups.

Sadly about 3 years after I was born they grew distant for some reason.

All my mom would tell me was that it was because of a certain incident.

After that, instead of getting a divorce they remained married and barely saw each other. I had been going to school in france for my whole life under my mothers name because I didn't know my fathers.

One of the very few things I knew about my father (and I don't no much even his full name) is that he paid for my tuition to Ouran academy.

I have no real idea why, except that he was half Japanese and half french.

I did not (actually no let me speak in the present) I do not know a word of Japanese.

I was supposed to learn it before I transferred but...... you know just things got a little um.........

Ok so if I'm honest I just forgot, I got a little distracted by stuff........

So needless to say my first day was a little hectic.

I am shocked that I found a way to get to my class.

💎FLASHBACK
BROUGHT TO YOU BY TAMAKYO
That's my ship I stick with it.💎

I found my class, 1A

I walked in, everybody was staring at me, the teacher started saying words....

I had no idea what he was saying.
At all.

I tried to listen in for my name and when I heard it I smiled, a wave of nervousness felt like it would drag me into the ocean at any minute.

I sat where the teacher gestured and put my head on the desk.

FLASHBACK END.

That was how I had been spending all of my time in class

Don't even mention lunch......

Let's just say I didn't expect today to be any different.

So when the lunch bell rang I wasn't in any particular rush to starve so I sat there for about 30 seconds in a slight daze when I heard a slight tapping noise on my desk.

I looked up and was amazed that I didn't notice her presence.

She was in a word, stunning. She had long black hair that was tied into a side ponytail. She unlike all the other girls was not wearing that yellow monstrosity. She instead was wearing a blue blazer similar to the one that the boys wore with a gray pleaded skirt. The most dazzling part of her though were her eyes, partially covered by simple frameless glasses.

Pools of emerald, cold calculating, with warmth around the edges, never quite reaching the center.

She spoke and for once I could say I knew what some one in this school was saying because she said it in French.

"You don't speak Japanese do you?"

I glanced around and sighed.

"No.."

She smiled, but it never reached her eyes.

"My name is Tatsuya Fujioka, what's your name?"

She was thinking, turning it over in her head, contemplating her next few words.

"Lia Ohtori, its a pleasure. I think I can help you with your problem."

She outstretched her hand, and I looked her right in the eyes. She flinched just barely but it was there. I took her hand and maybe I knew that my life would change ever so drastically as I looked into her eyes where her smile still didn't reach.
