  "Nick?!"

Standing in front of me, in the doorway of my room, is none other than Hailey's twin Nick. His blonde silky hair tousled in different directions, showing just how many times he might have ran his hands through it. His face was etched with worry and concern. Something I haven't normally seen, especially for me. His electric blue eyes which is a slightly different shade than Hailey's, seem wary and tired, even. His full, dark pink lips are pressed together in a line. His face seemed a shade paler than his normal shade. Wearing just a large blue shirt and khaki shorts reaching just above his knees, he didn't seem much dressed. He was just wearing some casual clothes, not even caring about his appearance. And judging by the small frown or grimace or whatever the snarling face he was making, I can say he was not exactly happy. I don't know what happened or what I did, I got a feeling that the frown was for me.

"Where the hell on earth were you?! Do you have any decency? You know to maybe call your best friend and let her know about your whereabouts. Hailey was going crazy. And so was I. You had us worried sick. She's been calling and texting you since yesterday night but you don't want to answer, do you? Then when she called your landline a few hours ago, none of you picked up and she threw a damn fit. And when she thought she had it enough, she asked me to join her to you place to check up on you. You know how much worried I am? Do you not care about us?!" He said seething angrily while I just stood there dumbstruck. I understood that Hailey can get upset or worried, but then he said about himself got me weirded out. He never cared. Or at least that's what I feel so. So where was this sudden care about me coming from?

He still looked angry but a little calm. A few minutes later, we both had calmed down.

"Where's Hailey?" I asked him once I snapped out of my daze.

"She's downstairs, talking to your dad," he replied, a little edge still present in his voice.

"Now can you answer me?" He asked, frustrated that I wasn't speaking up.

"I just had a few-" I was about to say but was cut off by a ecstatic looking Hailey barging in my room. She didn't even say anything but directly marched up to me and enveloped me in a bone crushing hug. I was  confused. Hell yeah, I was. Her huge height of 5'8 towering over my small frame of 5'3. When you are just chilling in your room and out of nowhere a girl with a gigantic height with her angry like a bird brother barges into and starts hugging the life out of you, you do get confused. Even if she happens to be your best friend and her brother happens to be your childhood bully.

"Why didn't you tell me before you idiot?" Hailey asked me as soon as she pulled apart while I just continued to stare at her in confusion. What the bloody hell on earth was she talking about?

"Tell you what?" Asked Nick who seemed just as confused at me. Oh, mate we both don't know what she's talking about.

"She bloody joined her mother's restaurant as a damned assistant chef to Stella and she didn't even bother to let us know," she said while glaring at me during the last part.

"Oh that. I just myself got to know a few hours ago. It just was something impulsive," I said, nonchalantly, when in reality it wasn't impulsive at all. I thought things through, you know and made the best decision I could. I am happy about it. But I am not going to tell anyone about my real intention of working there. Not when they will all misunderstand me.

"Impulsive?" Asked Hailey with her one eyebrow raised. Damn! I hate it when she does that. It's like a pet peeve for me. Because I don't really know how to do that and that is way too embarrassing. And she bloody knows how much  it irritates me so whenever she tries to get something out of me, all she had to do is raise her one damn brow and bamn! I'm blabbering like an idiot. But not this time. I am not saying anything.
