Gibbs' POV
About two hours in the air, Ziva complains about cramps. It doesn't take me long to figure out she's in labor. I give Tony a look but he doesn't seem to catch on, not even my famous head slap helps him. I ask him to get Ziva something drink so I can speak freely with her. As soon as Tony is out of reach she looks at me with a sort of frightened look. "I'm in labor aren't I?" She asks.
"I think so, Ziver." I answer and take her hand in mine. "You'll be fine. I promise." I add to it as I see an even more scared look appear on her face. She gives me a slight smile but the fear is still evident. In that moment Tony comes back. He still hasn't figured it out so I decide to tell him. As soon as I say it, he's on the ground. I have to smile and then I hear Ziva trying suppress her laughs too. I look at her and see her laughing while holding her hand in front of her mouth. It makes me laugh too. I get up and pull Tony over to the side and secure him to the little seat. When he wakes up he's all confused and has no recollection of what happened. Ziva's groan of pain brings him back to reality though. He's by her side in seconds, holding her hand through the entire contraction. He keeps on doing that with every contraction even when they aren't that bad. Luckily there is still a lot of time between the contractions and they aren't at their worst. I do think that once the baby is actually there, I will be picking him of the floor again.
Now I can also see how they interact when they don't need to hide their relationship. They're incredibly cute, even I have to say so. You can see that both of them truly love the other one. Ziva is Tony's Shannon. That is clear to me now. I'm not going to make a big deal out of it because of that. If they can keep it out of the office I'm fine with it. They have done it until now so that shouldn't be a problem either. The only problem right now is Ziva, who is having contractions in an airplane that is not going to land for another 9 hours, and there is no doctor on the plane. If something goes wrong, we might lose Ziva or the babies and in the worst case the three of them. Luckily I have some experience with birth, not enough to the deliver the babies but enough to see if something is wrong. I get pulled out of thought by Tony's phone ringing. He picks up, never letting go of Ziva's hand and says hello to the rest of team. Soon enough everyone's face appears on the screen and Tony turns it towards Ziva. Ziva says hello with a big smile spread across her face. They keep on talking, never letting a silence fall around them until Ziva gets another contraction.
I can see the scared looks of the team and once the contraction is over, Abby starts freaking out. Soon enough, Abby is yelling at the babies that they have to stay inside of Ziva until we're in a hospital. Everyone laughs at this but Abby is still not very happy about it. Ziva promised her that she would be the first to see the babies except for Ziva herself and the father. And she is not planning on letting Ziva break that promise even the slightest bit. By how she says it, I realize that no one on the team knew about the two. Abby even asks if she should call the father. When I look at Tony and Ziva after Ziva said no, they are both gazing lovingly into each other's eyes. Have they done that before I knew too? Did I just not notice it? Or were they just more careful before I knew? Who knows. All I know now, is that those two are going to be parents in less than 24 hours.
