I came home from school and was greeted with the tranquil silence of my familiar home. I sat my school stuff down on our worn, wooden table and raided the small pantry. "Hmmm what to eat what to eat...healthy? Junky?....Cheezits it is!" I said to myself as I reached for the box. I went into the small bathroom and began to get ready for Wednesday night church service. I pulled up my long, brown hair that fell well below my shoulder blades. I finished my homework and had some time to spare, so I plopped on the comfy couch and turned on the tv. The news came on and the announcers loud voice rang into the silent house, "Scientists are discovering planets appearing closer and closer to our solar system...." I switched the channel and began surfing for an interesting show. I decided to go with Animal Planet. 
The front door opened and I was blinded by the bright sun piercing through the opened door. 
                          
"Hey Mira!" My younger sister Peyton says. 
"Hey Pey...." I say glancing her way. 
"Got into the Cheeze-It's already huh piggy?" Peyton says.
"Ha-Ha so funny..." I say throwing a cracker at her. She laughed, picked it up, ate it, and walked to her room to do her homework. 
                          
I glanced at my phone and see a message from my boyfriend, Jake. I couldn't help but smile as I opened the message, 'Hey baby! How was school?'. 
I replied with, 'Eh just school....nothing fun. You?'. 
                          
I focused my attention back to the tv and saw yet another clip about the planets nearing our solar system. I was going to change the channel, but something stopped me and I kept watching. The old scientist, who resembled McJagger said, 'These planets, and the closer they come each month, do not appear to be planets at all. The speed they are traveling cannot be a planet. Our hypothesis show that they might be ginormous asteroids or actual spaceships.' I laughed at the crazed scientist and got up to get my belongings together for church.
                          
Not too long after, my mom comes through the door with my other sister, Addy. 
"Hey girls I'm home!" She yelled. 
"Hi!" "Hola!" Peyton and I yell back. 
"Hey Addy girl!" I said and hugged my youngest sister. Addy gives me a disgusted look and tries to shove me away. 
"Awwww do you think just because you're a 4th grader you don't need your 11th grade sisters hugs anymore?!" I say laughing and tickling her. Addy gets out of my grasp and runs into the bathroom giggling. 
                          
When my mother, sisters and myself arrived at church we ate our fast food meal and talked with our friends. Xander, my 18 year old, tan, and tall childhood friend walked over to the table I was sitting at.
"Hey Mimi." He says and sits down. 
"Hey!" I reply.
"You gonna eat ALL of that junk food??" He says teasingly. 
I glared at him, "Yes, yes I am."
"Might not wanna do that..." He said patting his stomach.
I rolled my eyes. "You're almost as bad as Jake." 
"If you ever saw him..." He said and immediately looked apologetic after he saw my dismal face. 
"Shut up." I said and looked down at my phone and texted Jake back. I knew being in a long distance relationship had it's complications, but Jake was everything I've ever wanted. 
"I'm sorry...." He said and got up.
"It's fine..." I mumbled. 
                          
I walked to the backstage room and found my guitar to tune for band practice. My best friend, Melody, walked in. 
"Oh hey Mel!" I said smiling at my short, blonde friend.
"Hey Mimi!" She said back giving me one of those best friend looks. 
                          
Xander emerged from the door with a puzzled look on his face. 
"Hey you guys, have you seen it outside? It's so strange..." He said digging through his drum equipment.
Melody and I glanced at each other. 
"What do you mean?" Mel asked skeptically. 
"Well open the emergency door and look!" He said with added attitude pointing to the door with a bright red 'EMERGENCY' sticker plastered onto it.
