"No." Sophie's anger was really rising up, and all she could do was to try to stop herself from inflicting it. "I have had enough."

Keefe hesitated, and turned around to look at her. He didn't expect Sophie to be angry, just sad. "You don't understand," he said, which made Sophie even more angry. He winced, feeling Sophie's emotion burning inside of him.

Sophie scowled, though there were tears in her eyes waiting to drop out. "No. Just-just SHUT UP!" Sophie raised her hands, as if using the Force. (Keefe had seen some episodes of Star Wars lately)

Keefe was surprised now. He'd never seen Sophie so unable to control her anger. He must mean a lot to her, he thought. He stared at her in stunned silence, and at the rippling forcefield around him, feeling confused. That's when it hit him. "You're a Psionipath," he whispered, eyes wide open.

Sophie looked at her hands, as if she couldn't believe that she'd just summoned the forcefield.

"No, no, Sophie, I have to go," Keefe begged. "I don't belong here. You have to let me go."

"Go where?" said Sophie. "Back to the Neverseen? Back to your mom? Don't think I haven't noticed those scars on your hands." Sophie was definitely surprised to find her new ability, and proud that it was containing Keefe from light leaping away, then felt ashamed of herself for using her ability on one of her closest friends.

"Please," said Keefe.

"I don't understand," Sophie snapped. "I am your friend," Sophie said angrily. "And so are Fitz, and Biana, and Dex, and Tam, and Linh. Now we've saved Annabeth, now we've made friends with Percy, and you're JUST GOING TO LEAVE?" Sophie had never shouted quite so loudly before. "Listen, because I am your  friend, I'm not letting you do this a second time. And because you don't know what you did to me-to all of us when you left us that day." She took a breath. "Keefe, how could you do this?"

Keefe stayed silent. He didn't know what to say.

"You have friends here. You have us here. You are my friend. Stay." Now Sophie felt tears running down her face. This time, she couldn't hold them in and she covered her eyes with her hands, looking like a Weeping Angel. (Okay, Keefe had also been seeing a bit of Doctor Who. He noticed he was becoming quite a geek lately.)

The forcefield collapsed around Keefe.

But he didn't try to light leap away. He didn't think of reaching the Neverseen. He thought of one thing: Sophie.

Keefe walked towards Sophie. After standing there awkwardly, he wrapped his arms around her. She stiffened in surprise, but didn't push him away.

"Listen," he said. "You were right. I do have friends here. And I need you just as much as you need me. What I did to you a second time-man, I'm so sorry. Forgive me. And please, don't hate me." Sophie's anger shifted to something else he wasn't able to distinguish.

"Keefe," said Sophie, smiling. "I would never hate you."
