"When you two left, I was sure Bucky would leave. I thought Bruce would stay and I thought things would go back to the way they used to be: quiet and normal." Her voice got deeper when she spoke softly, and Wanda placed her hand on Natasha's and waited for her to continue. "But it was Bruce who left and it was Bucky who stayed and Clint left too and it was all so sudden."

Natasha squeezed Wanda's hand as she took a breath.

"With Bucky here, I knew Steve would want to reconcile their relationship. So I gave them space, but then it became pretty clear that Bucky was avoiding me. I think he felt guilty for Bruce leaving."

"Why?"

"I don't know...I guess he didn't really know how much Bruce meant to me until—until he was gone."

"Did Bruce say why he left? Maybe he had some work to do, or maybe he needed—"

"He left because of me, Wanda," she paused, her eyes sealing shut. "With Bucky here, I had to choose and I...I chose Bucky without even thinking twice about it. I chose him without even realizing it."

"He still loves you," she whispered, and Natasha turned her head to look Wanda in they eye. "I don't know what happened, and I'm sorry I left, but I want you to know that we love you too, and you will always have someone here for you, no matter what."

It was faint, and under the warm lights of Wanda's room, the glistening of Natasha's tears were barely visible. But she saw them, and something painful struck in her chest. It hurt. Seeing Natasha like this hurt, and all Wanda could do was put her arm around her and hug her until she felt better.

"He actually said that?" Tony asked, biting his nail. "Wow. She could really do that?"

"I guess," Steve sighed, letting himself fall onto one of the chairs in Tony's lab. "I don't see how it's possible, though."

"Well, if she can make us see things and move stuff with her mind, I'm sure she can do something dramatic like change reality."

"This isn't funny, Tony."

"I didn't say it was, but I'm saying it is possible for this to happen. We've seen what she can do, and I have no doubt in my mind that there is more to her and her power than mental manipulation and telekinesis."

"There is more to her power, and the Professor seems to be the only one who knows exactly what it is."

"That's convenient."

"Yeah...," Steve swiveled in his chair slowly and leaned his head back, staring up at the ceiling. "I've always known she was powerful, I knew that the first moment I came face to face with her. But what Charles said—what he's scared of—makes me realize that we've underestimated her in all aspects of her power. What would have happened if we pushed her to her limit when weak kept all of those secrets from her? God, we could have ruined everything."

"That would have been very, very bad."

"You think?"

"I guess we got lucky," Tony uttered.

Suddenly, the lab doors opened, and Wanda stepped in. Steve straightened himself out, getting up to his feet. Her hair cascaded over her shoulders, and her eyes were lined with a redness that could only mean tears. She was silent as she walked over to them, and she quietly took a seat beside Steve.

Tony and Steve watched her carefully.

"Natasha fell asleep on my bed," she said, smiling softly. "Pietro went somewhere, and I saw you two up here, so I figured...you know."
