Maura's Point Of View:

It's been a five months since the divorce. Things between me and Jane are finally getting back to normal. We talk all the time and our conversations don't end up awkward anymore. I think Jane has a girlfriend. We don't talk about personal things anymore. She is showing all the signs of dating. She is constantly getting texts, that she is ALWAYS smiling at, she actually takes her lunch breaks, and she is more distant. I am happy that Jane is moving on, it hurts a lot but I'm glad she is happy.

I was in the middle of the autopsy when Frost walked in.
"Hello detective." I said giving him a smile.
"Hey doc. Anything on our victim?" He asked.
"She had a contrecoup contusion. A contrecoup occurs on the opposite area that was hit. They are associated with cerebral contusions, a type of traumatic brain injury in which the brain was bruised. This injury seemed to be caused as if she fell down a flight of stairs." I informed him.
"Was that the cause of death?"
"No. After the contusion, she was stabbed in the side three time and she bled out."
"Okay thanks doc." He said about to walk out.
"Wait. Detective." I said stopping him.
"Yes?"
"Um...how's Jane?" I hesitated
"She's good."
"Good." I replied
"Yeah. She said she met this girl and she is really happy." He said. I felt nothing but hurt take over me body. I felt the tears threatening to fall.
"Oh. Well I'm happy for her." I said before walking into my office.

Frost's Point Of View:

When I told Maura Jane had a girlfriend, I could sense her vibes change. I saw tears fill her eyes. When she walked away I knew I shouldn't have said that. Shit. I quickly walked to the elevator and headed towards the bullpen room. I saw Jane at her desk clearly frustrated with her paper work.
"Hey Jane." I said sitting at my desk.
"Did you get anything on the victim?"
"Yeah. Doc said she has a contrecoup contusion. Contrecoup means--"
"I know. It means her brain bounced around inside her skull." She finished
"Yes, but that wasn't the cause of death. She was stabbed three times and bled out." I finished
"Okay, thanks." She said goin back to her paper work.
"Jane...I think I upset Dr. Isles."
I said putting my head down.
"Oh what did you do?" She asked sternly.
"Well, she asked about you and I told her you had a girlfriend and were happy."
"Frost! We haven't yet discussed that. And she isn't a girlfriend, she's just a girl I've gone out with a few times. Sophia hasn't even met her yet."
"Yeah, I know I'm sorry."
"No, don't be. I'm allowed to be happy. I can't plan my happiness around Maura." She said

Jane's Point Of View:

I feel bad about how Maura found out. I never meant for her to find out this way. I was gonna tell her when it's official. We aren't dating. Riley is just a girl I've been out with a few times. I didn't want to tell her until there was something tell. Wait. She asked about me? Why would she ask about me? Does she still care about me? Does she always think about me? Why can't she be happy for me? I'm finally starting to her back on my own feet and now I'm having doubts about Riley. If there is any chance I can get Maura back, I want to do it. Maybe I should talk to her. No. Just leave it Rizzoli. You need to worry about this case. I said putting my thoughts aside. I was pulled away when my phone started ringing.
"Rizzoli." I said sternly.
"Jane."
"Oh, hey Riley. Sorry I didn't read my caller ID." I said
"It's okay. I was wondering if we could go out tonight." I thought for a minute.
"Yes. Yes, I would like that a lot." I replied.
"Great! What about 7?" She asked
"That works." I replied
"Okay I'll see you there."
"Okay." I said before hanging up.

Maura's appoint Of View:

I am so shocked that Jane is dating already. Has she already moved on? Did she forget about us, what we went through. How could she? Does Sophia know her? I could not even think about dating again, mainly cause I'm still in love with Jane. I decided to pack my things and head home. I can't focus. I headed towards Angela's to get my daughter. I am so thankful that Angela still thinks of me as her daughter. I don't know what I would do without her. When I reached Angela's, I knocked on the door and Sophia came running out.
"Mommy!" She said hugging my waist. I picked her up and I saw Angela standing there with Sophia's backpack in her hand.
"Thank you, Angela." I said giving her a hug.
"Anytime." She said before closing the door. I carried her to the car and strapped her in the back.
"So did you have fun with Nona?" I asked as I started driving home.
"Yes! We made cookies." She said holding up a bad of frosted cookies.
"Those look yummy." I said looking in my rear view mirror.

When we got home, Sophia ran into her room and put her stuff away.
"Look what momma got me." She said holding up a pink stuffed puppy.
"Awe it's so cute." I replied. I started making dinner and she played on the living room floor. After dinner was ready, I set the table.
"Sophia. Food is ready." I said as I brought our plates of food. She came and sat next to me at the table.
"Go wash your hands please." I said and she skipped down the hall Into the bathroom. I sat down and waited for Sophia to return. When she returned she sat next to me and we started eating.
"Mommy." She said looking at me.
"Yes?" I asked
"Why don't you and momma live together anymore?" She asked.

I knew this was gonna be the conversation I was trying to avoid.
"Well you see, me and momma just can't love each other anymore."
"But why?"
"Because we always fight."
"Do you still love momma?" She asked. This broke my heart.
"I do. I still love her a lot." I said stuffing food in my mouth.
"I miss you and momma being together."
"Me too baby, me too." I said holding back the tears.
"Mommy."
"Hm?"
"Can I sleep with you tonight? I missed you a lot." She said the tears falling down her red cheeks.
"Awe of course baby." I said holding our my arms and she ran onto my lap. I pulled into a hug and she clutched her arms around my neck. I stroked her honey blonde hair and kissed her cheek.

After I finished the dishes I started a warm bath for her. As I sat on the floor in the bathroom, I checked the temperature of the water before turning it off.
"Sophia." I called from the bathroom. She came running in with a pink towel.
"Bath time." I said and she got undressed. She stepped in the tub and started playing with the duckies. She splashed the ducks in the water and I rubbed the shampoo in her hair.
"Put your head back and close your eyes." I said as I filled the cup with water before pouring it on her head washing the soap out.

After I washed her body, she played for about five more minutes.
"Are you ready to get out?" I asked. She nodded the head and pulled the drain. She stood up and I wrapped the pink towel her petite body. I carried her into her room and grabbed her all pink footy pajamas.
"Let's put lotion on." I said as I grabbed the "bed time lavender baby lotion" and lathered it all over her body. She stepped in her pajamas and I zipped it up. I brushed her honey blonde hair then we settled on the couch.
"Mommy let's watch the doggy movie." She said covering herself with blanket. I put in 'Lady and the Tramp' before settling next to her on the couch. I miss this, just quality time with my daughter, no work interruptions, but it is lonely without Jane. It's like something is missing.

Ten minutes through the movie, I heard little snores coming from Sophia. I turned the movie off and picked her up.
"Mommy." She said still half asleep.
"Yes."
"I want to sleep with you." She said barely awake.
"Okay." I said and she laid her head back on my shoulder.

When we reached my bedroom, I carefully placed my six year old on the bed under the covers before slipping under the covers next to her. I laid on my side facing her, and she immediately rolled close to me and curler up against me. She opened her hazel eyes slightly making eye contact with me.
"I love you mommy." She whispered
"I love you too." I replied. I never realized the similarities between me and Sophia. She is really smart for her age, she has my eyes, and hair, and taste for fashion. But she is also so much like Jane. She has Jane's attitude, and she is loud like Jane, and she loves sports like Jane.

Jane's Point Of View:

Today me and Riley basically made our relationship official. She is staying the night for the first time. But we ain't gonna do anything more than sleep. I'm not ready for that. I'm still in love with Maura. I need to just take it slow. I'm hoping that next time I get Sophia I will introduce her to Riley. I hope this works out. I don't really know if I'm in love with Riley or if I'm just missing Maura.

A/N: The bound between Maura and Sophia is priceless. Only if Jane was there. Hang tight, hint hint. I just want you all to know that I do have a plan for Maura and Jane's relationship. You just gotta be patient.
