-Ember Blake-
I'M GOING TO BURN THAT PRICK TO THE GROUND FOR HURTING MY MARLO!!----- I mean Marlo. I didn't know what to do so I hugged him tight and rubbed his back as he cried on my shoulder. I helped him up and led him out of the cafeteria. I could see the sun starting to set from outside. I led him to the patio at the library where we could be alone. We sat down on the ground and the wind blew at us. He trembled still and used his sleeves to wipe his tears pushing his glasses up as he did. His dark wavy hair blew to the side.
"Marlo?.." I asked gently.
He relaxed a bit but kept his head down. "Hm?"
"You alright?..."
He didn't reply.
I pat his shoulder gently. It took me a moment to realize he was still crying. "It's alright. Trust me."
"That's all I had of her... and it's gone..." He sobbed into his hands.
It hurt so much to see him like this. Nobody deserved to suffer like this. Even Marlo, though I'm not too sure how terrible his past was. I'm not going to ask. He's in no shape.
He soon relaxed. "He's right about everything..."
"No, he isn't." I countered. It heated me up knowing that this wonderful idiot is letting another idiot get to him.
"I always look for detention and no matter how many girls I flirt with, none like me back. I'm stupid and rash." He rubbed his left arm.
"Not true. You are very sweet and funny." I heard myself say which I admit, nothing like me.
He smiled at that and I felt my heart go from 0 to a thousand real quick. "Thanks, Ember."
I looked at the sunset to distract myself from my heartbeats. My face was heating up and my heart kept fluttering like butterfly wings. Why am I thinking about butterflies?
"You are very beautiful, "I heard his voice gently say. I felt myself heat up more.
"Beautiful?" I asked trying to stay calm. 'I shouldn't be getting like this! I should be comforting this moron!'
"Very. Your hair and eyes always catch my attention, but never as much as your smile." He said in such a captivating voice.
"M-my smile?" I resisted the urge to touch my lips and hair. I tried not to seem awkward so I said, "your hair is nice too."
I could hear a gentle chuckle. "Of course it is. I'm gorgeous."
I couldn't help but laugh at that. No matter how tough this guy had it, he could always catch a laugh. My heart started to compete in the Olympics real quick because I felt his soft warm hand over mine. Honestly, it was sweet and all, but I'm probably going to end up burning his hand off.
I finally willed myself to look at him. I never noticed how pretty his blue eyes were under his glasses. I got lost in them completely but my heart refused to relax. So maybe I do like him. Will he stay loyal to me and not flirt with other girls? He started to lean and I was frozen. Will I let this guy be my first kiss?
I leaned slightly allowing him to come closer. Our lips were an inch away when I heard a brat--- girl come in. It was that girl that kissed his cheek before! GRR!
"Marlo! I heard what happened. Are you alright?" She said.
"Yeah. I'm alright, Andrea." He smiled.
"Thank goodness--!" I gave her a look and she seemed to melt. "H-hi! Nice to meet you."
I stormed away unable to stay. Let Marlo stay with her! I don't care! It was probably going to be a bad kiss anyway...
