Engine 51, Truck 81, Squad 3, Ambulance 61, and the Battalion Chief return to Firehouse 51. The call they're returning from is starting to get to them all. Over the past month they have been going to calls where the fires have been intentionally set to get first responders there to open fire on them. The police and Homeland Security aren't sure if it's foreign terrorists or domestic terrorists setting the fires. Domestic, foreign, it doesn't matter to them when they're being shot at.
Hearing that First Responders are being targeted, a private organization approached the Fire Department Commissioner offering their protection services free of charge to all the firehouses in Chicago. The Commissioner agrees and assignments have been made for who will provide security detail for each firehouse.
Connie informs Chief Wallace Boden that Firehouse 51 has been taken out of rotation for the rest of their shift. The person who is suppose to offer the Firehouse protection will be arriving today. Chief Boden suggests after this mornings call that everyone call their families and have them come to the Firehouse for a cookout/meet and greet.
After a few hours Firehouse 51 is a buzz with families. Christopher Herrmann's kids are running around playing with bubbles and balloons in the Firehouse driveway. Others have gathered around tables that have been set up inside the stalls. All of sudden everyone hears a car speed away and Lee Henry Herrmann runs up to his Dad who is standing at the grill with Chief Boden, Lieutenant Matthew Casey, and Lieutenant Kelly Severide. "Dad, some man grabbed Annabelle and took off in a car!" Herrmann, Casey, and Severide start running down the driveway, out into the street, and after the car while Chief Boden calls 911.
Mean while, Shaylynn hears a call to the 911 call center over her radio that a child from Firehouse 51 has been abducted. She hears the make and color of the vehicle and which way it's headed. It's heading straight toward her. She takes her all black SUV and angles it, blocking the street.

She gets out and goes to the back and grabs out her Barret M107 50 Cal gun, goes to the front of the SUV and sets it up waiting for the kidnappers vehicle to come within view. With everything that has been happening around Chicago, people on the street are panicking and calls start flooding into the 911 call center about a woman blocking the street with her all blacked out SUV and has a gun. This triggers even more police officers to be dispatched along with the Intelligence Unit from District 21.
While on the phone with 911, Boden gets into his car and picks up Casey, Herrmann, and Severide who are still running down the street after the kidnappers car. Once they get into the car, Boden turns on his sirens and speeds off. They catch up with the kidnappers car, but it's been stopped and smoke is coming out from under the hood. A woman with blonde hair, dressed all in black is holding a gun with the kidnapper laying on the ground with Annabelle standing behind her.
It isn't long after Shaylynn gets everything in place, the kidnappers vehicle comes within view. The driver sees her and tries to make a U-turn, but it's to late. She's already fired and took out his engine and smoke is pouring out from under the hood. She takes out her side arm and approaches the car very quickly to get the child out. Shaylynn yells at the driver to put his hands on the steering wheel and looks inside to see if the child is alright. "Sweetie, are you okay?" "Yes, I'm alright. Just scared!" responds Annabelle. "Can you open the door?" "Yes, I can open the door" responds Annabelle again. "Okay, I want you to open the door, run around the back of the car and come over behind me. Can you do that?" "Yes" says Annabelle. "Open the door and come over to me." instructs Shaylynn. Annabelle goes to open the door and the kidnapper starts to move his hands off the steering wheel as to grab her. That is until he hears the CLICK of Shaylynn's gun. Annabelle gets out of the car, runs around the back and runs right over behind Shaylynn. Shaylynn then proceeds to tell the kidnapper to get out of the car and lay face down on the ground.
