Jalissa's POV:
"Hey baby," Beau greets me as I walk into school and over towards him.
"Hey," I smile kissing him softly. We stand with the others just talking about random stuff until the bell rings. I can feel Beau's hand shaking in mine and he suddenly pulls it away.
Luke looks over at him with a concerned look, Jai then looks with the same expression.
"Shit," Jai mutters.
"Beau are you alright?" I ask him looking at him.
"F-fine," he stutters in frustration.
"Beau lets go home, you look sick," Luke says all to quickly. All Beau does is nod and quickly walk off with Luke and Jai.
"What's wrong with him?" I ask the others.
"You don't know do you?" James asks me.
"Know what?" I ask confused. James sighs and takes my hand leading me out of the school gates and continues to pull me down the road.
"James where are we going? We're gonna get caught!" I exclaim.
"Trust me, when you find this out you're not gonna wanna be around anyone," he says sitting down at a park bench. He looks at the spot beside him gesturing for me to sit down.
"What is going on?" I ask sitting down.
"Well it's not my place to say but I care about you Jalissa so I will tell you..." he starts. I sit there staring at him waiting for an explanation.
James' POV:
"A few months ago when we met Sam we never had experienced anything to do with drugs or alcohol. We we're all pretty good kids surprisingly. So we met Sam and thought he was the coolest person ever, he always took us to the coolest parties, the best hangouts and accepted us into his group. We were on top of the world, girls were lining up for us and practically begging for us, I guess that's what made us stuck up. Anyway one night we were at some party drinking away and Sam came over to us all and told us to try this little white pill. Of course us being sucked into peer pressure we did..." I say remembering that night.
*FLASBACK*
"This party's fucking awesome!" Luke slurs as he takes a swig of his vodka.
"Oath," Beau says dancing like an idiot.
"Oi boys," Sam shouts out coming over to us, "Try this."
In his hand is five small white pills.
"What is it?" Skip asks.
"Who cares what it is, it will make you feel so much better," Sam replies. Jai shrugs his shoulders and takes one followed by Skip, Luke and Beau. I stand there staring at the little pill and look around. Everyone is staring at me so I take the pill and pop it into my mouth swallowing it quickly.
"Have fun boys," Sam smirks before walking off with two girls. Typical Sam.
*END OF FLASHBACK*
"He gave us cocaine and we happily took it because we were fucked. I don't remember much from that night but I know we got into a fair bit of trouble. Since that day Sam kept giving us cocaine and drugging us every night. That's when people at school started not liking us, we went from being loved by everyone to being hated by everyone. We were addicted for a while and got into lots of trouble. The first one to stop was Jai followed by me, Luke then Skip. Beau tried to get off it but he took it that much that he couldn't stop, he had a pretty rough time being bullied and stuff so that's what he turned to. Now he is trying to get off it again and his cravings are so bad so when he starts shaking or get angry all of a sudden it's because he is craving it. Luke and Jai are trying to help him, they are easing him off it one step at a time," I finish looking at Jalissa. Her face is full of shock.
"Why is he trying to get off it now?" she asks.
"You, you're the reason," I mumble. She looks down at her hands and I see a tear drop down onto her hand.
"Hey don't cry," I say wrapping my arm around her.
"Why didn't he tell me?" she asks.
"He is scared that you will leave him. He loves you, a lot," I answer.
"I love him a lot too," she replies.
"I know," I answer hugging her. We sit like that for a few hours until my phone interrupts us.
"It's Luke," I say before answering the call.
"Hey," I say into the phone.
"Hi, is Jalissa alright?" Luke asks me.
"Yeah she is good, how is Beau?" I ask.
"He could be better, this is the worst he has ever been. He is pacing around the house and talking to himself," Luke mutters.
"Do you want us to come over?" I ask.
"Beau doesn't want Jalissa seeing him like this," Luke answers.
"Luke, uh I told Jalissa what is wrong," I say not knowing what he will say.
"YOU WHAT?" Luke shouts down the phone.
"I told her, she wanted to know and I think she has a right to," I reply.
"What did she say?" he asks.
"She didn't say anything, just that she loves him a lot," I answer.
Luke sighs in relief, "Thank god. Yeah come down then, I think he will calm a bit with her here."
"Alright, be there in five," I answer before hanging up.
"You want to see him?" I ask Jalissa looking at her.
"Yes," she answers quietly. We both stand up and start to walk to his house.
"Will he lash out at me?" she asks looking scared as we approach the front door of the Brooks' house.
"No, he isn't like that," I answer reassuringly.
"Okay," she mumbles before I knock on the door. Luke answers and smiles softly allowing us in.
Beau's POV:
I am pacing around the lounge room trying not to think about the cravings when there is a knock at the door.
"I'm just going to go get that," Luke says and walks off. A minute later I see James, Luke and...
Jalissa?
"Hey," she says cautiously.
"Why is she here?" I ask Luke pointing my shaking finger towards her.
"Beau, Jalissa knows what's wrong. She wanted to see you," Luke replies.
"Baby, it's okay," Jalissa says softly walking towards me. She touches my face softly looking into my eyes.
"N-no you can't see me like this," I answer backing away.
"I'm here to help you, I love you," she says holding her hand out. I look at it and take it slowly, her hand wraps and tangles around mine.
"I'll take care of him," Jalissa says to the boys. They all nod and head towards Luke and Jai's room.
"Come on," she says leading me to my room. What is she doing?
"Lay down," she murmurs. I do what she says and lay down on my bed still shaking like crazy. She crawls onto me and leans down kissing me slowly. Slight moans escape her lips as her hands roam my body while leaving a trail of sweet kisses down my neck and collar bones as she unbuttons my school shirt. As her hands run along my abs she sucks on my collar bones leaving small hickeys along them.
Slowly my hands become less shaky and my breathing slows down. I forget about the cocaine and focus entirely on her. She looks up and smiles at me innocently before kissing my jawline making her way to my lips. She kisses me passionately and our tongues collide, smalls moans escape her lips into my mouth making me tingle all over.
"I, love, you," she says in between kisses.
"I love you more," I answer gripping her waist. I flip her over so we are both laying on our sides looking at each other.
"Look Beau," she says taking my hands. They are no longer shaking anymore and my heartbeat is back to what it normally is.
"You stopped it," I gasp.
"We stopped it," she corrects me giggling.
"I can't thank you enough," I say.
"We will get you through this, together," she smiles.
"I love you so much," I say kissing her nose.
"And I love you even more," she giggles kissing my nose.
And that's when I realised, I don't need a drug anymore to be happy because I have her. She has put the light back into my life.
