Chapter 7: Tartarus Expedition

                                    

                                          
Minato walks to the second floor and enters his room. He shuts the door and locks it. Then, he lie down on his bed, staring at the ceiling. He thought to himself; Mitsuru-senpai obviously wanted to know more about me. It is for my power? He is so deep in thought that he did not realize that it is midnight. Of course, everything turns greenish because it is the Dark Hour.
                          
Since 10 years ago, he had been fighting the creatures alone. He requires a lot of experience from them. He knows their weakness, their strengths and their skills as well. On the other hand, he gradually lose his kindness. All this time, he fights them ONLY to protect Minako. He doesn't care about fighting for whole world or restoring peace to the world. After everything he had been through in the past, you cannot really blame him for being like that. It is an understandable sentiment but regrettable.
                          
He sensed a familiar presence. Without doubt, he can tell it is the boy from the other day. He is still wearing the black and white pajamas. The boy suddenly appears beside him and sits at the edge of his bed. In the same time, Minako is seeing the exact same boy sitting beside her bed in her room. They begin talking with their childish voice. 
                          
Mysterious boy(s): Hi, how are you? *chuckles*
                          
Minato: And you are...?
                          
Minako: Who're you!?
                          
Mysterious boy(s): We've met before. *chuckles* Soon the end will come. I remembered, so I thought I should tell you.
                          
Minato: I don't care.
                          
Mysterious boy: Really? ...If you say so. To be honest, I can't tell you much about it yet.
                          
Minako: ...Thanks.
                          
Mysterious boy: ...*laughs* I wasn't expecting you to thank me. But you're welcome. That... is what I'm supposed to say, right? ...I don't really know what this "end" is about, either.
                          
After answering the different response from the twins, the speak in unison again. It IS weird that the same person can appear at the same time at two different places. However, the boy is NOT a normal human.
                          
Mysterious boy(s): Oh, looks like you've awakened to your power...and an unusual power it is.
                          
Minato: ...
                          
Minako: What kind of power?
                          
Mysterious boy(s): A power that takes many forms, yet is bound by none. It may prove to be your salvation, depending on where you end up..... Do you remember when we first met? I expect you to honor your commitment. I'll be watching you, even if you forget about me... Okay then, see you later.
                          
The boy disappears, leaving Minako bewildered. She thinks about it for a moment and goes to sleep. Minato, on the other hand, sleeps immediately because he simply just don't care about what is going to happen to earth.
                          
Tuesday, 21st of April -Morning- [School]
                          
As usual, the twins meet Yukari at the school gates. They walk into the building together. 
                          
Yukari: Mornin'.
                          
Minako: Good morning, Yukari-chan. What's up?
                          
Yukari: Um...Thanks about yesterday.
                          
Minako: Thanks for what? For joining SEES? It's not a big deal actually so no need to thank us.
                          
Yukari: Well, Akihiko-senpai is injured and I was really uneasy about working alone with Mitsuru-senpai.
                          
In Minato's mind: Obviously, they don't trust each other just like me. The only difference between me and them is that they are pretending while I don't.
