"Do you really have to go? I was thinking of actually having a lazy day."
I chuckled and looked up from my phone as we walked down the street. This morning Clara called, telling me that she needed me to help out in the Irish Muffin, seeing some people made reservations and it was going to get really busy. She also told me that I would get payed £30 more today if I showed up. So even if I didn't want to, I didn't really have a choice...
"Well, for all I know, you can still have your lazy day. I could only dream of it," I answered once I looked back down to the text Millie had sent me a few minutes ago.
Harry groaned, but kept walking with me -which surprised me. "Can't you just say you're sick?" he tried again. I shook my head and tried to hide my fond smile. I don't know what it is with this guy. One day we're fighting over something so stupid and the other it's like he's my best friend. It's weird, but I'm not going to lie, I like it.
We eventually ended up in the Irish Muffin and Millie rushed me immediately in the kitchen. "C'mon! Help me making those damned muffins!" she said while throwing an apron at my head. "I've been trying to get everything done all morning, but Sydney hasn't showed up yet, she's no were to be seen and even Clara tried calling her. She must be busy," Millie explained.
All I did was pull a face and nod before I started helping her with the ingredients.
"So, Styles is back? What now? You two are buddies or what?" she laughed.
I know, the idea of me being friends with him seemed to be an impossible task just a day ago, and Millie and I both knew that, but there was something about the way she said it, that actually upset me. "He's not a bad guy, Millie. He's just different. Used to stuff I'm not. Used to luxury. To fame. To people liking him right away. I don't know. I grew up with my mother telling me not to believe everyone and not to give yourself away to the first person to your left."
Millie nodded and kept quiet for some time before she started to talk about how her weekend was and how she was so happy that her father and mother decided to take her to Disney Land.
...
"Niall! Lunch time!"
"Hell yes!" I breathed out in happiness and relieve. This morning was so chaotic. Not that there were that much people, but we had to do everything with the two of us. Well, three if you count Clara being behind the counter, too.
I stretched myself out as I grabbed a freshly baked donut from the plate and untied my apron. "Hey, I'm going inside for this, alright? I'll be back in probably twenty seeing that's my regular time," I told Millie. She pouted, but nodded eventually.
"Alright. Don't worry, I got everything under control... for now... Don't be out for too long!"
With a smile and a small laugh escaping my mouth, I walked out of the kitchen and into the restaurant. And to my surprise I saw a mop of curly brown hair sitting in a booth, alone. I walked up to him and sat myself down, donut still in my hand. "Hey, why are you still here?" I asked as I bit in my donut. I covered my mouth and tried not to moan or groan to the deliciousness of the freshly made donut.
Harry looked up at me from his phone and flashed me his brilliant smile.
No wonder everyone loves him...
"I wanted to wait. Like I said, I have nothing to do today. Besides, it's quite entertaining, seeing you walk in and out of that door like it's a sport." Harry laughed softly and I joined him quite easily as I could only imagine how comical it must have looked seeing me work. "And also, Li is not answering my texts, so even if I wanted to do something, I would have to do it alone. I'm not an alone-person," he told me.
