"I don't want that mission!" Naruto and I exclaimed simultaneously to Tsunade.
I was still trying to find a mission that I would find exciting. After taking all these boring missions, I needed one that would actually be fun. Enya-sensei, Kyo and Wakako already got their missions and left to go do them.
Kakashi and Sakura were staring madly at Naruto. I could tell that they were pissed off at him. Tsunade grumbled and I knew we were pushing our luck.
"O-On a second thought, I'll take that mission!" I exclaimed, hoping Tsunade wouldn't be as mad.
She sighed deeply at me and as Tsunade opened her mouth to reply, the door slammed open, revealing a rushed messenger. "The Sand's Kazekage has been taken by Akatsuki!! The message just came now!"
I gasped at the new. "Gaara!"
Then I also felt a surge of anger. Akatsuki... They just won't stop hurting my friends will they? I looked over at Naruto and I could tell he was just as mad.
Tsunade looked at us gravely. "I have a new mission for you, and that includes you too, (Y/N). You are to go to the Sand, and stabilize the situation there, provide back up and then report back."
We all nodded as we then rushed out of the office. We all went to the entrance of Konoha ready to leave when Jiraiya came. "You guys out for a mission already?" He turned to Tsunade, "The Sand's Kazekage—"
"We know, that is why we are sending these guys." She replied, gesturing to us. Jiraiya looked over at Tsunade, leaning in to whisper to her. "You do realize about Akatsuki and Naruto, right?"
Tsunade's eyes widened as she nodded hesitantly. Jiraiya left to go talk to Naruto. "Don't use that jutsu, Naruto." Naruto's eyes narrowed and he nodded. Jiraiya turned to me, "And you take care of yourself, (Y/N). Wouldn't want a cutie like you getting hurt now!"
I laughed, "Sure thing, Jiraiya." His expression then turned serious. "Be careful with Akatsuki. I know you have a vendetta against them, but don't let your emotions take you over."
I clenched my jaw, just thinking about them. Thinking about how they now have Gaara now, and what they could be possibly doing to him. "I know." I replied to Jiraiya, not meeting his eyes. I gave him one last nod, and then we all took off to the Sand.
"Wait!" A voice rang out to us. I looked behind me to see Temari coming our way. "I thought something felt off," she explained, "so I decided to head back to the Sand."
"You're right," I said, "Gaara has been taken by Akatsuki."
Temari's eyes widened at this. "What!?"
Kakashi-sensei cleared his throat, "It'll take three days to get to the Sand so we can't waste any time." We all nodded, and I filled her in as we rushed to the Sand.
Naruto was rushing ahead of us, full of rage. "Naruto!" I called out, "You shouldn't run so fast! You'll get tired quickly!
"I can't stand it!" Naruto growled. "I know why they're after him. After us. They're after the demon fox inside of me. And inside of Gaara. Me and Gaara are always going to be chased after because of this! Everyone either thinks of us as monsters or tools!"
My gaze softened as I remembered the moment I first met Naruto. I remembered he was all alone and no one dared to go near him. They all treated him like he was nothing, like he was just trash. Him and Gaara were exactly the same. Gaara was treated the same.
