James pov
The moment she gasped and opened her beautiful grey eyes I was in shock. I couldn't find the right words to say and it felt like the air was getting thicker around me, making it harder and harder to breathe.
And then I smiled. I smiled because her face was so innocent like a child's. I knew that she had opened a new page. A new page of her beautiful story that was in the making.
There was something in her eyes that made me freeze. There was love. Regret. Hope? Hope for what? To break my heart again? Stop. You said you would give her a chance James.
So I did. I smiled and lifted her hand up and intertwined it into mine. I was going to help her get her life again. But first I needed an explanation.

Bea povHe was really here. He had come back for me. So obviously, I had to open my mouth and ruin the moment. "After all this time?" I asked him, trying not to smirk. I could tell he was trying not to look angry, he had done it plenty of times before. He would try to be angry but the crease on his forehead would slowly disappear as we made eye contact.
"That's when you're supposed to say Always" I was smirking now. He started laughing. For a moment I was frozen in time, my gaze stuck on his beautiful face. I hadn't heard his laugh in a very long time. I used to love the way that he would lean back while laughing, his tall figure and gorgeous smile lighting up the room. I still loved the way his eyes would spake when he laughed, looking like a model out of a magazine.
"There she is, my babygirl." He whispered, his face getting serious, as if he'd shared a secret no one was supposed to find out. I lost myself in his eyes, mine glazing over at his words. "Where have you been James?" I whispered. "I've missed you so much" I stared at the our hands, hoping he would never let go. Never again.
I knew I had to tell him. I had to tell him why I had done what I had done in the past. That night.
"James. . ." I started. But he cut me off. "No," he said, " Tell me Bea, why don't you tell me why I left." "James, listen to me please, I can explain everything." I pleaded. But he got up and started pacing around the room, a bad habit of his. "I had to shoot you James, I had to make you hate me, it was for your safety, for us." I was crying now, hoping he wouldn't look my way and see how pathetic I looked.
"I fucking loved you Bea, and what did you do?" "You shot me!" "You fucking left, and I was left with nothing!" He yelled, turning to face me. I flinched. I never flinched. He knew that, which was maybe why he took a step forward, the expression on his face softening.
He ran a hand through his hair and took a seat beside me on the bed. He put a hand on my cheek and rubbed his thumb across it. Naturally, I closed my eyes and calmed down, leaning my face into his palm. "I'm so sorry James, just listen to me once and you'll know." I told him. "I truly am sorry for everything I've ever done." I whispered, holding his hand that was on my cheek.
"Okay, I'll listen to you, I promise." He said. So I started. The walls around me slowly crumbling with every word I said. And when it was over, my fears had washed away. All the pain that I had kept to myself over the years disappeared. I smiled when James looked relieved at the end of my story. "I love you Bea" He whispered, truly meaning every word. "I love you so fucking much." He said louder this time, taking me into his arms. "I've always loved you James, I never stopped and I never will." I said, cupping my hand on his cheek.
We were both smiling like freaks, lost in each other's eyes. We were drinking each other's features in, it had been so long. In my heart I knew that James had forgiven me a long time ago, for my mistake. We both knew that it was for our safety, and now we were free. We were free to do whatever we'd like, hell we could even run away and forget about everything if we wanted to.
But that was one thing u wouldn't do. I couldn't betray my friends. Sean, Kacey, Kaleb, and Jack had been there for me when no one else had and I would not repay them by leaving without a word. I was done running away. I looked at James. He looked at peace, like seeing me had washed all the pain and regret away. It was everything I had ever wanted. He made me happy, something I had not felt in a long time.
James was leaning in, oh how I had missed his lips. It was done. Once his lips touched mine, I was lost. It was like swimming in an ocean, floating in the deepest horizons and never once looking back. This was something that I hadn't felt in so long. I had done it plenty of times before, but I would only do it over and over again with James.
This kiss was full of love, we had forgotten it over the years but with one kiss everything was coming back to us. The nights we had spent together just sheets between us. We had told each other our deepest secrets and fears and now we were opening up to each other again. It was truly amazing, and I hoped it would never end. And of course, the moment I thought this, the door opened.
James flew away from me, and landed on the floor with a thump. We both looked like deer caught in the headlights. I would've laughed if Sean, Kacey, Kaleb, and Jack hadn't walked in at that moment. They were all staring at at is looking back and forth from me to James. James got off the floor and dusted off his jeans. Sean was the only one that recognized him and widened his eyes in shock.
"James?" He asked, wondering where he had come from. "Um hey Sean." James said, blushing and rubbing the back of his neck. "What the fuck is he doing over here?" Sean asked, looking at me. Sean was the only one who knew about everything that had happened between me and James and also knew him from the few meetings that they had had. "Um he came to talk to me." I told him looking at the floor, trying not to make it evident that we were just on the bed practically eating each other's faces off. "Did he do anything to you?" Sean asked me. I knew Sean was secretly asking me if I wanted James here or not, or if I still loved him.
I smiled. "Don't worry, he didn't do anything to me Sean." "I just told him about you know." I said, knowing he would understand what I was implying with my words. Sean nodded and looked over to James. "Nice to see you again bro." He said walking over to him and doing the weird man-hug thing all guys do. I smiled, relieved that Sean hadn't taken James's presence to hard.
"It's time to go home Bea." Kacey smiled, waking over to me, silently asking me to tell her about everything that had just happened when we got home. "Yeah." I said getting off of the bed. I was fine now and didn't need any help and so I changed into a pair of clothes that Kacey had brought for me and got into the car, with James. Sean thought it wasn't a bad idea if James stayed with me since he could keep me company and we could fix our "stuff". Quoted from his exact words.
I smiled all the way home. I was happy. Everything was going to change now. And I liked where it was going.
