Valentine's day | Erik Durm

                                    

                                          
I wake up to the sound of the door closing and slowly open my eyes to see that Erik already went to his training. I sigh, knowing that I am going to spend Valentine's day alone this year. I take my phone from the bedside table and go through Instagram. Nearly everyone posted a picture of themself with their boyfriend or girlfriend, while they are having a great time. I get out of bed, although I don't want to stand up and take a quick shower. After I was finished showering, I put on some comfortable clothes, since I am going to stay at home all day anyway. As I walk into the kitchen, I can't believe my eyes. The whole table is full of food that I love and beside it lies a small paper. 'I hope you enjoy your breakfast, love. -E', it reads. I smile and sit down at the table. After I tried to eat everything and failed, because it's way too much, I quickly clean the table and the kitchen up, before I go into the living room and sit down on the couch. As I want to switch the TV on, I see another note,which says:'Be ready at 6. -E' I laugh a little at the fact, that Erik knows exactly what I do on free days and then look onto my watch. It's only 1 pm, so I still have a lot of time. I start to watch my favorite series and just relax on the couch until it's time to get ready. At half past 5, I slowly stand up and go upstairs to put some make up and my favorite dress on, which Erik got me for my last birthday. I am ready at exactly 6 and wait for him to come, but he gets home 20 minutes too late. "Hey, love." He greets me as he walks in, dressed in a black suit. "Happy Valentine's day, love. You look...absolutely amazing." He adds and gives me a short peck on my lips. "Thanks. You look amazing, too." I reply and he takes my hand. "Are you ready?" He asks and leads me to the door. "I was ready 20 minutes ago." I answer sarcastically and follow him to his car. After he opened the door for me, he gets in himself. "Where are we going?" I ask as I sit down. "That's a surprise, sweetheart." Erik replies and starts to drive. "I knew that you were going to say this." I say, making both of us laugh. After a while of us just talking about random things and singing along to the songs on the radio, we arrive at the most famous and expensive restaurant in Dortmund. "Wow." I state as Erik opens the door for me and takes my hand again. "Only the best for you, princess." Erik replies, making me slightly blush. After we got seated in the restaurant and ordered our food, Erik asks:"Are you enjoying the night so far, babe?" "Of course, Erik. Thank you so much." I answer and then our food arrives. While we eat, we talk about everything, we could take about. "You should know, that I have another surprise for you, Y/N." Erik says a while after we finished eating. "Really?" I ask and hand him a small box, before he is able to say something else. "I have a surprise for you, too." I add smiling and watch how Erik carefully opens the box to reveal a silver necklace with a star shaped charm. "I know you probably won't wear it, but maybe it can be your good luck charm." I say. Erik shows me his cute smile and softly takes my hand. "Thank you so much. I love it." He states and stands up to walk towards me and give me a soft kiss on my lips. "Let's go." He says and we walk out of the restaurant hand in hand. "We can walk if you don't mind." Erik suggests, while nervously scratching the back of his neck. "Yeah, I'd love to walk." I reply and we walk in silence for some minutes, just enjoying each others presence. After some time we arrive at a small lake. Beside the lake are lots of candles and a single red rose lies on the ground. "Did you do this for me?" I ask happily and turn around to look directly into Erik's eyes. "Yes, with a bit of help." He answers smirking and gives the rose to me. "It looks so beautiful." I say and enjoy the moment, while Erik wraps his arms around me from behind. "I love to look at the stars. They're so peaceful." I state as I look at the sky. "I love to look at you." He says, making me blush. "I love you so much, Y/N." He adds and kisses my cheek. "Thank you for everything, Erik. I couldn't think of anything better to do on Valentine's day." I say and turn around in his arms. "Thank you for doing this for me." I add and lean in to give him a soft kiss. "Thank you for staying with me, even in rough times." Erik says and looks directly into my eyes. "I love you so much, Erik Durm." I reply and get lost in his breathtaking eyes. "I love you, too, princess. You are the best thing that has ever happened to me." He says. "Do you want to make me blush again?" I ask sarcastically, making us both laugh again. "Of course." He answers and kisses me. I lightly giggle and lie down in the grass beside the lake. Erik immediately lies down beside me and wraps his arms around me. "Thank you for this day." I whisper, while I look up at the stars. "Always." He replies and pulls me closer. "You are the love of my life." He whispers into my ear. I smile the brightest I ever have and just enjoy the feeling of being with Erik, the best boyfriend I could ever dream of.
