It's just Joey and I in Tyler's house right now. He had gone to the bar to go tell his friends that the plan we made with them was now a no go and we worked everything out. I think they are probably going to be devastated because they don't get to use guns anymore, but oh well. That's a few less people we're going to be liable for.
Jo and I sit on the couch in the living room and I teach him how to feed Melanie her bottle. He quickly gets the hang of it, and is confident in doing it. I smile while watching daddy and baby spending time together when I get a text on my phone. Its from Trisha. I feel anxiety rush into my chest at the thought of her coming back here to finish the job.
"Can we please talk." The texts reads.
I hesitate. "Are you going to try to kill me again?" I text back.
She instantly replies. "No, I promise. I never break my promises."
"Fine." I say.
A few minutes later I get another text. "Can you open the door?" I furrow my eyebrows and head to the door. I peak outside through the window to make sure she isn't, in fact, tricking me. When I deem it safe, I open the door and let her in.
She seems timid. "I heard you killed my father." She says, right off the bat. Is she gonna pull a gun on me again? I get ready for my "friend" to try and kill me again but she doesn't. At first she looks angry about it, but then she looks happy. She wrapped her arms around my neck.
"Thank you." She cries. Confused, I pull away, and she proceeds to explain herself. "My father said if I didn't try and kill you, my boo boo bear (Spencer), and all the people I love, including my mom, and then kill me." She has a guilty look in her eye. "I'm so sorry." I give her a reassuring smile.
"We've all done things we're not proud of." I look at Joey. He is focused on Melanie and not listening to our conversation.
She quickly changes the subject. "So how did it feel?" She asks.
"How did what feel?" I ask to clarify.
"I mean you versus the mafia?" I roll my eyes at her.
Tyler walks into the house and jumps back against the wall, running to go hide behind a table. "What the hell is she doing here?" He yells.
"Ty, calm down. We're cool now." I assure him. He narrows his eyes at her and cautiously comes out from behind the table.
Trisha and I chuckle and I give her one last goodbye before she heads back to New York.
