"Are yoy ready man?" Chewy asked me as I was fixing my tie on my tuxedo. I gave him a look to help me fix it, only because I was shaking nervously to the point where i couldnt control my hands. We're in a really nice nice church that Maya picked out and said she liked. The room was really small, but at least it had a large mirror so i coukd see my groomsmen getting ready, it was kind of drafty too which made me start sweating like crazy. Tristan finishes adjusting my tuxedo jacket and steps back.
"We're ready?" Tristan asks, while looking around the room.
"We have 20 minutes before he's gotta be out there," Michael, my brother, says from the back of the room, while he takes one last look in the mirror.
I turn around from the mirror and face them, my groomsmen. That title i can't take seriously, mostly because i cant believe it. They have been there for me throughout the struggles I've had and the crap i been through. "Guys I'm really nervous," I say as I'm trying to calm myself down a bit and think to myself "me Miles Hollingsworth nervous?" wow i couldnt believe it.
"Come on now, Maya is 20 times nervous than you," Zig says as he's adjusting his cuff, I'm glad we were able to sort out our stuff and become friends.
"How do you know?" I say. "I'm sweating a river here."
"Well she is one of my best friends so I know how she is and Tori just texted me that Maya's fancy dress isn't zipping right," Zig says, I rasies an eyebrow and laughed at the fact Tori texted him that.
"Really? I went to the dress fitting last week...Tristan said looking suprised.
"You'll be fine man, now I suggest we get out of this room, because it's making me unconfortable," Michael says to me. Everyone just laughs and i just smile, as we walk out to the hall and sit on benches that rest against the wall. I saw a bunch of Maya's bridemaids running around trying to get their things or whatever. All the guys texted their wives, well not Tristan he was texting his longtime boyfriend, Fab, Zig was texting Tori, Chewy was texting Sophie, Michael texting Alyssa. Today I'm marrying my one-and-only, my rock. Maya Matlin. If feels like just yesterday i asked her.
"Where are you taking me Hollingsworth?" Maya said looking outside the window of the car smiling.
We had been living together for about three or four months in a really nice house in a sort of a quiet neighborhood.
"Now Matlin, I'm not telling you," I said moving one hand to Maya's she smiled at me and gave me a playful punch on the arm. After a minute or two, she put on The Summer Set cd we both like. I set up the song "When We Were Young" to play first. It was "our song" as she called it.
"Aww Miles! it's our song," she said looking at me all excitingly. She quietly sang along with the lyrics and I smiled at her. I turned the car to park it. I took her to the beach, the place i took her when for our first date back when we were in grade 11. We had gone back a lot of times when we weren't so busy w University.
"Close your eyes" I said before Maya had the time to realize where we were.
"Whatever you say Hollingsworth..." she said closeing her eyes and placing her hand over them. I took her hand and led her to the entrance of the beach. I took her wrist in my hand and lowered her hands to reveal our destination, she smiled and covered her mouth with amazement then looked at me. "I can't believe you did all this...for me, Miles," she said.
Your'e worth it Matlin," i said smiling locking my fingers with hers. We walked to a pile of roses around the sand that led to tent with a candle light dinner. I love spoiling her, she deserves it, she's the perfect girl for me. She smiled as I pulled her chair out for her to sit down and scooted her in and I couldn't stop looking at her, she's so beautiful and I can't believe she's with me, a once broken bad boy.
"This is so romantic, I love it," she said eyes facing me, the fact that she loved it made me smile and feel good inside. "Glad you love it babe," I said reaching for her hand across the table, while I was grabbing something in my pocket with my other hand. Chewy and Zig helped me pick out the ring two weeks before.
"I have a question Maya," I said standing up nervously kneeling to thw ground. "What is it Miles?" she said smiling at and looking at me. I took out the box from the pocket of my pants and said:
"Marry me?" looking at her beautiful face, staring into her big blue eyes.
"Miles..." she says smiling almost on the verge of tears.
"Matlin. Maya Matlin, I love you, you are the girl of my dreams, you've helped me through everything, stick with me through everything, you are the most flawless, sweetest girl in the world and my one-and-only, so please say yes?" I said finally revealing a silver banded ring with a single diamond
Maya wiped her tears with the napkin and said "Of course I will Miles" laughing lightly and smiled, then i picked her up and swung her around, then slipped the ring in her finger, and Maya just kept smiling and eyeing the ring.
"You see that diamond? thats you, you're my only one," I said resting my forehead against hers. I titled my head and kissed her on the lips. I took her hand and we took a walk on the each and it was peaceful just being with her Maya with no worries or anything, I can't wait to spend the rest of my life with her. After we stopped at Degrassi and reminsce on our teenage days. It was one of the best days ever
"Come on we better get along Miles, Tori just textes me saying they're ready, let's go," Zig said to us and rushing us out of the benches. Once I got up and looked at myself one last time and headed to the altar door and I looked out to everyone. There was a lot of people, including my family except my father but there was some I didn't recognize until I noticed it was Maya's side of the family. I walk up to the platform where the pianoist started to play. The guys started to walk up with their other halves, first Michael with his wife Alyssa, Chewy with Sophie, Zig with tori and Tristan with Fab, they all stand up at their places at the platform. Then cam Mia Martin, Jake and Kate's four and half year old daughter as the flower girl and not to forget my brother's five year old son Aiden, as the ring bearer. Chewy tap my shoulder as Maya walks down the aisle wit her dad, wearing her poofy, long dress that shapes her figure perfectly, with her beautiful blonde curla flowing to her shoulders. I smile at her beauty. Maya lets go of her dad's arm and looks at me and says "Take care of my daughter Miles" I nod and say "Of course Mr. Matlin."
I take Maya's hands and listen to the pastor's built in vows that he had repeated a million times. Maya didn't know I had my own vows to share with her. I stop the pastor and say "How bout I share my own?" I take out the folded paper from my pocket.
"Matlin. Maya Matlin," I say first. "I really love you, a lot actually more than anyone else, you stole my heart the second I saw you trying to sneak into that concert, you're something special, so be my Maya Hollingsworth?" I say and let out a breath, "Will you?"
Maya smiles wiping er tears and looks into my eyes and says "I will Miles." "I do" and we take a look at the pastor in complete silence.
"Kiss your bride champ!" he says. I smile and grab Maya's cheek and kiss her passionately then he says "I present to you Mr. and Mrs. Hollingsworth, everyone claps and I now get to spend the resr of my life with my beautiful bride.
hope you guys liked it :)
