Living among the mundane people of the world are several entities with incredible powers. They are characterized by what is seen by the general populace as an ordinary genetic mutation, when in reality, they are telltale signs of supernatural might.

Those who are born with scarlet irises, called Red Eyes, are capable of calling fire from their fingertips, scorching their targets with a furious crimson blaze. However, while they do possess a resistance in proportion to their power, they are not immune to heat and fire, even their own, without some level of mastery or control.

Others, who have irises in the color of the sun's bright yellow, are gifted with the power to control biological mass. By default, this manifests itself in the ability to accelerate cell regeneration and cleansing for healing. However, many only scratch the surface, using the ability as a method to mend wounds, while others have sought to study and discover how far their potential can go.

Meanwhile, there also exist those with eyes of amber, a mixture of both, capable of utilizing both abilities as it suits their current situation.

These power manifests itself when the Day Witch or Magi concentrates on what they need in the current moment, blinding themselves to all possibilities and anything that lies behind them to focus on a single point before them.

This is more than a mentality to draw up now and then. For all of those who are able to use the power of the Day, it is part of their nature, a facet of their being that they could not ignore. Instinct. Thus, these people are typically headstrong or emotional, with a few exceptions, who have found different ways to embrace the current moment and take them as they are.

Then there are the carriers. At least 1/10th of all people in the world carry the gene that potentially births a mortal empowered with the aspects of the Day, whether they know it or not. Unlike those who have received the gift, they are free to develop their own mentality, independent of the limitations of seeing only what occurs within the moment.

In terms of power, those who wield the power of fire and control of the body not all are created equal. Most are capable of calling little more than a spark in their hands or are limited to mending a flesh wound. Meanwhile, few are capable of engulfing an entire city in fire, or going so far as to raise the mindless dead.

All of them, however, since time immemorial, have considered themselves a bright flame among mankind. But with every light, there is shadow.

With every day, there is night.
