"Okay, guys. For this mission we will be escorting shinobi from another village. One of them will be carrying a secret missive. Namely, that's what we are guarding. There will also be three other escorts from the requesting village. If fighting breaks out... first and foremost, I want you four to make sure you're safe. Understood?" Minato briefed his four students.

"Yes, Sensei."

The four students travelled at the front of the squadron with the four Hidden Hot Spring Jonin behind, and Minato behind them.

"All right." said Obito with a goofy smile. "I'm gonna show my stuff big-time and make it to Hokage!"

"It's not gonna be that easy." replied Rin from the other end of the line the four formed running down the main road through the forest.

"Obito, where you even listening to Minato Sensei?" asked Yuzuki running alongside Obito. "We are not to engage in any battle."

"Besides, we'd only get in Minato Sensei's way." Kakashi added.

Obito's mouth fell agape. "Is he really that amazing?"

"Haven't you heard of the Yellow Flash of the Leaf?"

"I have." said Rin.

"Me too." said Yuzuki. "He's an incredible shinobi who's fame has spread to other villages too."

"And he's our teacher, Minato Namikaze, the man touted to become the next Hokage."

It was like Obito's eyes lit up like the stars. "Really?! someone that amazing is teaching us? I feel my blood rushing! Man, I wish someone would attack us."

"Why would you wish that!" Yuzuki felt like smacking him across the back of his head to knock some sense into him.

"Hey, I wonder who's stronger." Obito implied. "The Yellow Flash of the Leaf or the White Fang of the Leaf?"

Kakashi's heart leaped from his chest and he turned a glare to Obito running beside him. "Obito!" Yuzuki scolded feeling the tight tension radiating from Kakashi.

"The Hidden Leaf had a hero named The White Fang." Obito kept pursuing the topic despite Kakashi throwing his head down. "I heard he died protecting the village. Haven't you heard of him?"

"No, I haven't." Kakashi spat and ran ahead of his teammates.

"What's with him?"

Yuzuki scoffed. "Way to go, Obito."

"What did I do?" he gawked making Yuzuki roll her eyes in a huff. An unsettling feeling then washed over Yuzuki and It was like the forest around them grew darker and the atmosphere grew thicker. She looked ahead to Kakashi to see if he had picked up on the same feeling, but he said nothing. Not even Obito or Rin noticed.

This was strange, thought Minato. He could sense several chakra figures in the trees. They were completely surrounded and his students were oblivious. This mission was far more dangerous than the rank assigned to this mission. He came to the decision he needed to stop these intruders right there and now before they were are completely surrounded.

Bringing his students might have been a mistake.

His blue eyes looked ahead to his students. Who could he trust? he wondered. Kakashi could protect the missive and keep the others safe...

Yuzuki looked over her shoulder and her sharingan eyes met with her Sensei. Impressive, he thought, she picked up on their surroundings.

Minato circled around the Hidden Hot Spring shinobi they were escorting and came to his team. "Listen up!" he called for their attention.
