Chapter 5

                                    

                                          
The waitress walks over to our table with two plates and it smells so good. Just as she sets the food down my stomach begins to growl again. How embarrassing!
                          
"Hungry, huh?" the waitress asks looking at me and James laughs lightly.
                          
"Yeah." I smile and reply looking at the food on our the table.
                          
Wow! It was was a huge burger and a bunch of fries. I'm sure I'm not going to finish it, but sure as hell was going to try.
                          
I'm not like these other girls, who get self conscience about eating in front of a cute guy or any guy. I grab the plate closest to me and being to dig in. 
                          
Damn this burger is good! Better than any other burger I have ever had. I'm glad James ordered this. Wait I completely forgot he was here. I look up to find eyes on me.
                          
"Um I guess you really were hungry." he says laughing a little and I couldn't help but looking at his lips. Wow this has to stop! 
                          
"Yes I was." I say smiling a bit and like never before I actually was worried about how I looked. 
                          
"So, are we not going to talk?" he asks looking at me intently waiting for my response.
                          
To be honest I don't even know what I want. It would be nice to get to know him, but is that what I want? Could anything get worse than it already is? 
                          
"Hey." I reply awkwardly and he laughs.
                          
"I didn't mean like that. I meant like tell me about yourself." he says.
                          
"What do you want to know?" I ask.
                          
"Everything, but just start off with the basics." he says.
                          
"Well my name is Chloe. I am 17 and a senior at Jordan High School." I say in a formal tone and he starts to laugh.
                          
"I didn't mean like that, but that's nice to know." He says still laughing a little.
                          
"Then what did you mean?" I say puzzled.
                          
"Like what you like to do. Hobbies stuff like that." he says.
                          
"Oh. Well I like music." I say shyly.
                          
"Do you play anything?" he asks.
                          
"Yes actually I play a few instruments and sometimes like to sing." I say.
                          
"Oh really that's cool would you sing me something?" he asks and I am shocked.
                          
"Here? Right now?" I ask getting completely nervous.
                          
I'm not that good of a singer,but I'm okay I suppose. 
                          
"Yes right now if that's okay with you." he says.
                          
"Um I'm not that good." I say trying to talk him out of it.
                          
"I'm sure you are. Come on just sing something. Please??" he asks looking at me with the cutest puppy dog eyes ever.
                          
"Fine." I say giving in and clear my throat. 
                          
"So you say you want to get away we don't need a plane... I could be your escape take you to a place where there's no time, no space....." I sang. 
                          
He looks at me, but doesn't say anything. I began to get self conscience. 
                          
"Aren't you going to say anything?" I say growing tired of him just staring at me.
                          
"You have an amazing voice." he finally says.
                          
"Really?" I ask smiling ear to ear. No one has ever said that to me.
                          
"Yeah you're really talented." he says.
                          
"Tell me about you?" I say changing the subject and because I was curious. 
                          
"I'm James and I am 17. I am also a senior at Jordan High School." he says.
                          
"Well James it's nice to meet you." I say laughing a bit towards the end.
                          
"Likewise." he says smiling.
                          
We talk for a few more minutes while I wait for him to finish eating. He's a pretty cool guy. I can see why all the girls at school have a thing for him. He is absolutely attractive and so far his personality is amazing.
                          
"You want a ride home?" he asks as we exit the restaurant. 
                          
To be honest I am not ready to leave his presence just yet. I don't want to go back to Penny's apartment right now because she will ask to many questions. Also I don't even know where it is from here. I must have been thinking a little to long because the next thing I know James is in front of me waving a hand in my face.
                          
"Chloe??" I hear him ask.
                          
"Yeah?" I ask.
                          
"You didn't answer me." he says as we continue to walk to his car.
                          
"Oh, not really." I say looking at the ground then back up to see a quick look of hurt on his face. 
                          
"Oh ok. Well I'll just see you around." he says and I stop him.
                          
"I didn't mean it like that. I meant I'm not ready to go home just yet." I tell him.
                          
"Oh, so where you want to go?" he asks.
                          
"I don't really know." I say.
                          
"Ok I know just the place. Hop in." he says getting in the car and starting it.
                          
We've been in the car for about 5 minutes and I still didn't know where we were going. 
                          
"James, where are we going?" I ask.
                          
"You'll see." he says with a small smirk.
                          
I hate surprises so much and am very impatient. Surprises and I just don't work.
                          
"Ugh how much longer?" I whined.
                          
"Just wait Chloe. Turn on the radio maybe that will distract you for a bit." he says dodging my question.
                          
He really isn't going to tell me where we are going, so I turn on the radio. As soon as it is on I hear one of my favorite songs playing. Me being me I turn it up very loudly. Forgetting where I was I began sing to the song.
                          
"Stay with me... because your alll I need." I sung off key and pointing to James.
                          
He was starring at me for a little bit and before the song was over he started to sing with me. 
                          
After the song was over I looked up to see beautiful blue water and sand.
