I left out some things, mostly when Scott and Kira were talking about Sydia because it seemed unnecessary for a book that's mostly written in Anna's POV and it may seem like everyone talks about Anna a lot when she's not there, but I do that so that there is some original material in there and I'm not just copying word for word out of the show which is boring as hell, but for this episode really important. I would have had Anna at Eichen, but it just didn't seem right for her to go back their willingly or have anyone let her?

"Someone is taking the bodies. The alarm went off at the animal clinic last night and Scott and I went to have a look. The lock on the door was broken from the outside and Tracy's body was gone. Mrs McCall also told us that Lucas' body went missing from the morgue." Kira was explaining as I shoved my bag into my locker.

"So someone is stealing them. That's not creepy at all." I mused.

"It could be these masked guys, but we're not sure." Kira stated.

"Doubt it." I huffed, digging around in my locker to find the right textbook. "If they were the ones taking them then why leave them in the first place? They could have taken both Tracy and Lucas when they killed them."

"The Dread Doctors by T.R. McCammon." Lydia's voice caught my attention as I looked to where her and Malia were walking down the corridors, looking at a book.

"What?"

"I don't know. There's something about it." Lydia mused, looking over the cover.

I tapped Kira on the shoulder and we went over to Lydia and Malia. "Coming from a banshee that probably means it's important." I stated then looked at the cover. "Whoa. That's them!" I exclaimed.

Malia nodded. "I found it at Tracy's."

"Has anyone actually read it yet?" Lydia asked.

"Just me. And I didn't understand any of it." Malia stated.

"We should probably all read it." Lydia stated.

"Here, give it to me. I'll make copies." Kira said, holding out her hand to take it.

"I already made one." Malia stated, digging into her bag to hand over the first copy for Kira to use.

We continued to Lydia's locker while Kira took off to the copier. "Stiles says he can't find anything on the author. He thinks it's a pen name." Malia explained as Lydia turned the book over to read the blurb.

"Where is he?" I asked, noticing he wasn't with Malia and he usually drove her to school.

"He said he wasn't feeling well today so he's at home." She shrugged.

"In a small New England town, teenagers are taken in the night and buried alive." Lydia started reading aloud. "Days later they emerge transformed, wreaking havoc and spreading terror, commanded by an ancient order of parascientists known only as the Dread Doctors." Lydia finished. "Sounds vaguely familiar." She said sarcastically. "How does it end?"

"It doesn't. This is supposed to be volume one."

"Let me guess, there is no volume two?" I asked.

"I think we're living volume two." Malia stated.

"I think the real question is... is this a novel or someone's prediction?" Lydia asked.

I sighed, "Brilliant."

We went to our first two classes and Kira handed over out copies of the book at morning tea.

"Scott went to give a copy to Theo." She explained.
