When we pulled up to the store no one was there. I walked in with Luke and went directly to the boot section. Luke separated from me and went looking for pants.
I found a pair of brown boots with teal crosses and rhinestones on them. They matched my brown and teal dress I had in my closet so I picked them up and went to the cash register. A tall lady with blonde hair and blue eyes stood behind the counter.
"How ya doing?"she greeted me.
"I'm doing...good...I guess"
"You don't sound like it. What's wrong?"she said scanning the shoe box.
"It's hard having to shop for clothes for your mom's funeral"I started to tear up.
"Oh,sweetheart. I'm so sorry"
"I'll be fine"
"You seem like a strong girl"she placed the box in a brown bag.
"Us Texas girls have to stay strong"
"I know that's right"she handed me the bag as I handed her $35 for the boots. "Well,have a good day. Our business card is in the bag and I'm sorry about your mom"
"Thank you"
I walked outside and saw Elizabeth, Nash,and Cameron around the SUV.
"Where's Luke?"Cameron asked.
"I think he's still in the store"I replied.
I hopped on the hood of the SUV and Cameron stood between my legs.
"So what kind of boots did you get?"Cameron asked.
I pulled the box out of the bag and opened it.
"They're beautiful"he looked in my eyes. "Just like you"
I looked Cameron in the eyes and smiled. The sun shined in his face, making his face glow and his eyes sparkle. His hair was limp because it got wet at the beach but he still looked flawless.
"Ally,did you talk to the women at the cash register?"Luke barged out the door.
"Yeah. Why?"
"She gave me these pants for free because she knew mom has passed"
"Why did you act so mad?"Nash asked.
"She treated me like some retarted dude. She was starting to get on my nerves"
"Whatever. Let's go"Elizabeth said.
We all got back in the SUV and left.
"Are we still going out to eat?"Luke asked.
"Ummmm"I checked the time on my phone. 6:03. "Yeah,I guess"
"So,Texas Roadhouse?"Elizabeth,the driver,asked.
"Duh."Luke snapped.
"What the attitude,Luke. Or I will drive us straight home and make up eat grass"
We all gave her a dumb look that said 'that wasn't even funny' and her smile immediately faded.
About 5 minutes later we pulled into a parking lot. We all hopped out and ran inside.
"I call ordering first!"Nash yelled.
"No,let the ladies order first"Cameron politely said.
"But we eat more than both of them combined"Luke rolled his eyes.
"Shut up"Cameron slapped the back of his head
A tall,skinny waitress showed us our table and handed us menus. I sat next to Cameron and across from Elizabeth. Nash sat next to Elizabeth and Luke sat across from him.
"So,what are you getting?"Elizabeth asked me.
"Um....I was thinking about have the chicken fried steak and a salad. What about you?"
"I was thinking about trying the grilled chicken salad"
"What's the deal with girls and salads? Every time I go out to eat with these two they always gets salads. All the girls I've dated,I take them out on a date and they get salads. It's like eat a hamburger for crying out loud"Luke yelled.
"Will you shut the hell up"I reached over and lightly slapped him.
"OW!That hurt"he whined.
Cameron and Nash laughed at how he was acting like a baby. The waitress came back over and introduced herself.
"Hey y'all. My name is Miranda and I'm y'alls waiter for the night"she had long blonde hair and blue eyes I would die for. "Now what can I get y'all?"
"I would like the chicken fried steak with a salad"I said.
She scratched down our orders in her small notepad as we said our orders.
"OK. If y'all need anything,let me know and I'll be back with y'alls orders"she finished with a smile that was kind of creepy.
We sat in silence sipping on our drinks until we heard a loud BANG! from behind us. My grip tighted on Cameron's hand to show how scared I got.
We all tried to look and see who it was.
"Bruh,they're fight"we over heard a guy say.
Luke stood up to get a closer look and his eyes winded.
"What a surprise. It's Lauren Leopold"Luke said sarcastically.
I stood up and sure enough her fake boobs and her blonde hair were all over the place. Her and this other girl were rolling on the ground and pulling each others hair and throwing drinks at each other.
"Stay away from my boyfriend. You little slut"the girl yelled to Lauren.
"It's not surprising that she got into a fight over a boy"Nash yelled.
The manager came over and broke up the fight. Tortilla chips and steak sauce was everywhere. She had scratches all over her face and arms. The girl grabbed her purse and walked out. Then the slut walked by.
She got a look at all of us and winked at Cameron.
"Keep walking you fake ass Barbie doll. Cameron has a REAL girlfriend"I screamed.
She rolled her eyes and stormed off. Cameron held my hand and kissed my cheek.
"You get hot when you're sassy"he whispered in my ear.
All I could do was look at him and smirk.
The waitress came back over to our table and gave has our food.
"I'm sorry for the commotion that happened"she said. "Can I get y'all anything else?"
We all shook our heads and she left.
