"You can do it."
"But what if I get kicked off the team?"
"Then I'll quit too, and probably Tiana. The girl adores you."
"But I'm just going to sound like a big tattle tale. It's not like she'll do anything about it."
"Then don't tell her."
"But she needs to know."
"Well Codie, honestly you're just disagreeing with everything I've said. Do what you want. I've tried to handle your stubbornness, but this is all I can handle today." Sawyer said before walking back into the barn. I was finally going to tell Kari about what Lindsey did. I'm scared out of my mind, but she needs to know. Right? I've been second guessing myself all day, and I don't even have Sawyer to help me through it because I scared him off.
I saw Kari arrive, and instantly went over to her truck.
"Hey Codie, you ready to ride?" Kari asked once she got out of her truck.
"No, not quite yet. Um...I have something to tell you. I think it's a serious matter, but you might have a different insight about it. So feel free to tell me if I'm overreacting." I took a deep breath before I spilled about everything that happened at the post show party.
"Well, that is very rude of her. You are all aware of my showmanship policy. I will have a chit chat with her after practice today. Thank you for informing me. Now go get ready to ride."
"Thank you Kari." I hugged her and jogged to the barn to get Zeus ready to ride.

"Very nice everyone. Cool your horses out, then I would like to speak with you all in my office when your horses are put away." Kari dismissed us from our lesson and walked into the barn. Sawyer and I took our saddles off and decided to ride bareback since we haven't done that in a while.
"So you talked to Kari."
"Yeah, and she actually took it very well. She didn't think I was overreacting." I snapped at Sawyer.
"I didn't think you were overreacting. You just had a counter argument for everything I said. I think you were just a little stressed about the situation, I just decided to give you some air and some time to think."
I took a deep breath. "I don't deserve you." I said stopping my horse.
"What are you talking about? Of course you do. You deserve the best, and that's what you have." Sawyer said trying to lighten the mood.
"No, you know what's best for me even before I do. You stand up for me when someone talks trash about me. You're loyal. You're just perfect."
"No, i'm not perfect. Even ask Emily. She'll tell you all my imperfections in a heartbeat." He walks his horse up next to mine.
"I think I just might do that." I smiled for the first time in this conversation. Sawyer leaned toward me and I met him in the middle for a kiss. "Thank you." I whispered once we broke the kiss. He pecked my lips once more and we walked back to the barn to put our horses in their stalls.

"Now, I need to talk to you all about our team rules. I have been notified that they have been broken by one of you. What is my number one rule?"
"Showmanship" We all said together
"Showmanship. That's right. And what does that mean? It means that you treat your team and everyone around you the best that you can. You are kind to them, you congratulate them when they receive something, you are happy for them always, and you don't ruin relationships. Do any of you have questions?"
I looked around and caught Lindsey's eye. She was glaring and shaking her head at me.
"Good, now failure to uphold this rule will result in temporary suspension from the team." Kari finished then dismissed us. "Wait, Lindsey, could I speak with you for a minute?" Lindsey stayed behind while the rest of us left.
"I have a few lessons to teach, and one more horse to ride. I call you when I'm done." I told Sawyer kissing him goodbye as I made my way to the arena. "Sorry I'm late girls, are your ponies all warmed up?" I asked as I started the lesson for Emily and Alicyn. They had become best friends and do everything together now. I noticed Sawyer take a seat on the bleachers and watch the lesson. He probably was just waiting for Emily, however I caught him staring at me a few times too.

I was just brushing Sysko down and was about to put him in his turnout when Lindsey stormed up in front of me.
"How could you?" She said with tears running down her face.
"I had to tell her. You did violate the rules, and you were a queen B to me. So don't give me your sob story. I hope you learned your lesson." I said with a straight face, side stepping her and leading Sysko out of the barn.
"This isn't the end Codie."
"I'm pretty sure it is." I replied not turning around.
