For LaurenBlurton I'm pretty sure this is the one you wanted. If not, please tell me.
"Are you sure it's alright? I can go tomorrow. He is my brother," you asked for the tenth time that day.
It was the anniversary of your friend's death, and Dally was taking you to the cemetery to visit her grave. Your brother,Ben, was also coming home that day from his deployment with the Marine Corps, so your husband, Steve, was going to pick him up from the bus.
"Yes, Lauren," he reassured you. "Go! It's fine. Your brother and I get along just fine."
"Okay." You kissed him goodbye before climbing into the passengers seat of Dally's car.
You drove a little ways down the road, right passed the bus stop, to a light. It was green, so Dally kept driving. As he turned, you glanced out your window. A car was speeding towards you until everything went black.
*Steve's POV*
I had just made got to the bus stop when I heard it. A loud crash. Ben and a crowd of Marines rushed off the bus to see what happened. My breath hitched in my throat as I realized I recognized the car that was crumpled at the passenger's side. My heart dropped to my stomach when I remembered that my wife was sitting there on the passenger's side.
Everything was a blur from then on. I remember running, and then a ride to the hospital in the ambulance, my hand wrapped tight around Lauren's, and next thing I knew, I was pacing the waiting room if the hospital, and Ben was sitting at the edge of a chair, his leg bouncing in anticipation, his head in his hands.
A doctor came out from the doors to the ER. "Lauren Randle?"
Ben jumped up, and we stood in front of the doctor, waiting for his news.
"She's pretty bad," he said, carefully, "and we have to move her into surgery immediately."
"Then what are you doing out here?!" I screamed. Ben had to hold me back from doing something bad. I calmed down a little. "How's Dally?"
"The young man is quite alright. A bit bruised, a few scratches, but he's in a lot better shape than we expected." The doctor motioned for us to follow him.
Dally was yelling at a nurse, who promptly, and angrily, left once we entered the room, muttering something about ungrateful hoods. Dally hopped to his feet.
"How's Lauren? Man, I'm sorry. I should've checked the other side. I hope she's alright." Dally's face showed deep worry and concern which was unlike him.
"They're about to take her to surgery, but the doctor said she's doing okay," I told him.
An hour later, Dally left. He decided he should tell the gang what had happened and all.
Ben and I sat next to each other in the waiting room, once again, waiting on news about Lauren.
"She's gonna be alright," Ben stated.
"What makes you so sure?" I asked.
"I've seen weaker people make it through," he replied. "And I know she wouldn't give up. Not when she has someone that loves her like you do."
"Yeah." I looked over at my brother-in-law. "She's a strong little lady."
As the hours past, some of Ben's Marine buddies, the gang, and Lauren's parents came to check up.
*Y/N POV*
Two Days LaterYou were suddenly conscious. Your head was pounding, and there was a dull throbbing throughout your body. You tried to move your arm only to find it was slightly restricted by IVs and such. You opened your eyes, squinting from the brightness if the room.
"Lauren, you're awake," you heard Steve say.
A hand ruffled your hair softly. "Hey, sis." You looked up to see Ben looking down at you.
"Hey, guys," you croaked, your voice hoarse. "Can I get some water?"
Steve handed you a cup, which, with some struggle, you drank from.
"Thanks," you smiled, weakly. "So, what did I miss?"
I can not tell you how sorry I am for not writing this sooner. I kinda rushed it bc it was getting long, but I hope you still like it. You have been so patient, and thank you for not harassing me about it even though I took so long.
