We dropped the horses off at the barn, and were now all headed our separate ways to get ready for the party, and then we will meet at Kari's place a couple blocks away. It was a tradition, that whenever we would have parties we would go to Kari's and party till the day is done.
I got to the house and ran up to my room stripping everything off on my way to the bathroom for a shower. I scrubbed my scalp with a raspberry mint shampoo, and was sure to shave since we were dressing to impress. I finished scrubbing the dirt from my body, and jumped out of the shower and wrapped my fuzzy black robe around myself. I started playing some music throughout my room and sat down at my vanity to get ready for tonight. I let my hair down and brushed through it before blow drying it. I didn't completely dry it, I let it air dry for the rest of the time while I did my make up.
I never wear more than mascara, but tonight was a very special night. We don't usually dress up for a party unless it's after a good day at a show. Kari will probably have another party tomorrow for the JV team.
I started by covering my face with foundation to even everything out, then I started my eye makeup, I just went with a gray smoky eye and winged eyeliner. I watched a YouTube video for it. I finished everything off by doing my mascara, brushing out my eyebrows, and putting some chapstick on. Now it's time to tame the beast I call hair.
I brushed my now dry hair and grabbed my heated up flat iron. I ran over the pieces that needed it, and worked on the top section to make it all lay flat. When my hair was all straight, it reached just past my hip bone. I didn't want to get dressed quite yet, so I waited until it was time to leave. My dad and Porter, Zeus' owner, were going to accompany me to the party so I was just waiting for the word.
I lounged around in my room for about an hour before my dad said that Porter was on his way. I hopped off my bed and walked to my closet, I pulled out the bag that held my dress for tonight. It was a really big occasion. My dress was a long sleeved black dress that reached just above mid thigh, so it was short, but not skanky short. It was backless, but had a cute cutout. I paired the dress with some deep red heels. The one time I will ever wear heels like these. I looked in the mirror and brushed out any creases in the dress. My blonde hair stood out against the black dress. I actually looked pretty. I was ready for tonight.
"Codie! Let's go. Porter is here." Dad yelled up the stairs. I stumbled putting my left shoe on, and eventually made my way down the stairs, WITHOUT falling might I add. We got in Porter's truck and made our way out our driveway. Fourty five minutes passed by and we parked outside Kari's place. I slid out of the truck, and clicked into the building. There was music blasting, food, lights, a full dance floor. People usually invite their friends to celebrate with them. I scanned the place looking for Sawyer when two arms snaked around my waist.
"Looking for me?" They asked.
"Nope."
"Well then who?"
"Just my boyfriend." I said with a smile on my face.
"JUST your boyfriend?"
"Yeah, he's handsome, and smart, and tall, and handsome, and athletic, and handsome, and a really good rider. Did I mention he's handsome?" I giggled turning around in Sawyer's arms looking up at him. He returned the smile and leaned down to peck me on the lips. I giggled and kissed him again.
"You might have mentioned it once or twice." He said before pulling me closer and kissing me long and hard. Well that is until a voice cleared next to us.
"Oh hey dad." I shied away from Sawyer.
"Son, you do know the boundaries correct?" Sawyer nodded. "Good, I'll let you two have your fun tonight, I'm going to go sit down, but just remember this, if can tell that my daughter has shed one single tear, you will regret it. Oh, and I don't want any grandkids for another year you hear me?" Dad finished glaring at Sawyer then walking away. I buried my head in Sawyer's chest and groaned.
