'I could just barge into that stupid cave.. If only I knew where it was..'
'Maybe I should just go look for it..'
'Maybe I can still find Cara's den and ask her for help.. If the borders to the vampire area were still open.. I would surely get caught if id try now."
A deep sigh escapes my mouth again before I take another large gulp from my beer. I throw my head backwards onto the couch. "FUCK!" I shout loudly, a small amount of all the frustration that is contained inside my body, spilling out.
I look at the clock. 11AM. I close my eyes and try to relax and come up with a new plan when I hear my phone ring somewhere in the house. I groan out of irritation and get up from the couch, my now empty beer bottle still in my hand and a bag of ice in the other. I follow the sound of the ringing phone and find it in the pocket of my coat. When I fish it out of there, the icepack now uncomfortably under my arm, I see its my sister Kariann calling. My three sisters seem to be taking turn in calling me every week, since last week it was Kimberly and the week before that, Kristine. I take the phone in my hand, walk to the kitchen to lay the icepack and the beer bottle away and take the call.
"Hello." I answer drily. I walk over to the couch again and sit down this time.
"Hi Karlie, its me, Kariann." My sister replies, as if I havent already seen her name on the screen when I took the call. "Im just calling to see how you are." She continues, her voice laced with some worry. "You didn't take Kimberly's call last week." She adds.
"Oh yeah, sorry. I was busy." I reply, trying not to sound too angry or annoyed.
"Oh." Kariann replied, disappointed of course.
"Sorry." I reply. "How are you?" I try to change to subject by talking about her, instead of me.
"Im okay. School is busy but thats fine." She replies. "How are you? You sound.. down."
"Yeah.. I.. Im fine." I reply. "Just.. busy."
"With what?" My sister asks quickly. 'smart'
"You know.. stuff." I reply, trying to keep the conversation natural.
"If you mean drinking too much shit, then I know what you mean yeah." She spits out, some annoyance in her voice. She's a few years younger than me, but she knows me and she knows that Ive changed a lot in the past few years.
"I..I.." I stutter, but she interrupts me quickly.
"Please don't deny it Karlie. We've seen you last month when we visited you. We've seen the bottles. We've seen you.'' She says. "I know you miss her. But you cant dwell in your sadness and anger forever. She left.''
I had told my sisters about Taylor. Well, not the whole story of course. I left out the parts that included werewolf's, vampires and any other mythical creatures.
"She didn't." I say then. "I left."
"Well you told me you had to. She told you that she had to stay in her own city. So actually she kinda left you." She says, explaining the situation to me as I had told her before.
"Yeah but.. Kariann, you don't understand it.."
"Because you're leaving things out Karlie!" She replies rather loudly. "I cant understand shit if you leave half the story out!"
"I told you I cant tell you everything. Its dangerous okay?" I say for about the 100th time.
"Who is this girl, some kind of maffia member?" She asks seriously.
