CH14

                                    

                                          
Since Traffy's been awake things have been better. He spends more time with the Straw Hats now and he smiles all the time. We go on dates every weekend and he's never too busy to hang around me. Life at this point is sweet. 
                          
Today was a partially cloudy, windy Saturday and Traffy and I were heading to the movies. We got to the ticket counter and everything was sold out. So much for a movie day. We decided to just go walking around the city. We weren't holding hands because we wanted to start over. We wanted it to just be us and of course the Straw Hats. 
                          
We found a bench to sit at that was facing the ocean. I loved watching the sunshine glisten over the surface of the water. It was so beautiful. Because the wind was blowing, my hair was getting in my face. It was okay though, I didn't mind. I noticed Traffy looking at me and when I made eye contact with him he blushed and turned away. He's so cute when he's trying to hide a blush. I giggle and then we get up and walk some more. 
                          
"Mia-ya," he says. 
                          
"What's up," I asked. He looks up at the sky and his hair is blowing in the wind too. He looks back at me with a smile on his face. We started running next to the water and this moment was just what I've been needing for a while.
                          
We were out to the point where it got dark and all the stars were out in the sky. I loved looking at the stars just as much as I loved looking at the clouds. Traffy escorted me back to my house and I wasn't upset about leaving him. He stood by the tree in front of the yard, watching me as I went inside. 
                          
Luffy and Usopp were passed out by the door which meant I got to sleep in Luffy's bed. I liked Luffy's bed more than mine because his was bigger. It could probably fit the whole crew on there. Apparently when I got up to Luffy's room, Chopper was already sleeping in his bed. Oh well, better luck next time. I just went to my room and went to sleep.
                          
Monday came around. Nothing really happened on Sunday so I'll just skip to Monday. Me and Traffy were in our usual positions without holding hands of course. He walks me to class before leaving to his own. Coby wasn't here today and I really wanted to talk to him. Electrika said he wouldn't be back for a while. I can wait. The strange thing is, Helmeppo was here. Usually when Coby's gone, Helmeppo's gone too. I caught up with Helmeppo on my way to my next class. 
                          
"Hey Helmeppo wait up," I yelled. 
                          
"Oh Miss Mia, how can I help you," Helmeppo asked. 
                          
"Do you know when Coby will be back," I asked. 
                          
"He should be back within the next two weeks. Is something wrong?" 
                          
"You know just as much as Coby does, that I care about him. I wouldn't ever treat him any different than any other person. He's been my friend for a long time and I don't want anything bad to happen to him. Helmeppo, can you please tell him I really need to speak with him when he gets back," I ask. 
                          
"Of course. I'll deliver your message, I promise." 
                          
The school year is almost over and I don't want Coby and I to drift apart. I wasn't upset and I wasn't miserable. I was completely normal. Traffy said he couldn't walk me home today. Luffy was bummed to hear that. Him and Traffy have a nice bond since they've grown to know each other better. Usopp put it as brother-in-laws.
                          
Once home I begin my homework. I had the window open just to get some air. Zoro came and bothered me. 
                          
"My sweet-sweet baby sister. What are you up to," Zoro asks. 
                          
"What do you want Zoro," I ask. 
                          
"I just wanted you to know that you're awesome," he said. 
                          
He was drunk. He says weird things when he's drunk. I didn't want to deal with this so I yelled for Sanji to come up and get him. Sanji came upstairs, kicked him in the face, and dragged him out of my room. I sighed before I looked back at my homework. 
                          
When I did look at my homework paper I noticed a flower on my desk and it wasn't the one Traffy gave me. This one didn't have a stem, it was was just the flower. I got a little creeped out and called Traffy to ask if I could come over. He set the time for an hour. I went into Nami's room to finish my homework. She didn't mind. 
                          
I was able to finish my homework in an hour, then I asked Robin if I could spend the night at Traffy's house. She said yes and I packed my clothes. Usopp got jealous. He has a girlfriend named Kaya he doesn't ever get to see outside of school. Luffy has a girlfriend too but he doesn't really care to see her outside of school. I think she was some kind of princess. I left and walked to Traffy's house. Nothing really happened on my way over there. I was now inside of Traffy's house. We played some games and walked around outside and went back to his house. I slept on his bed and he slept on the couch.

Two weeks have passed. It's time to talk to Coby. I told Traffy not to be around me this week. I needed to have a serious conversation with Coby. Helmeppo gave me this note from Coby. It said, 'meet me by the bench next to the water at midnight.' I did just as he requested, although I had to sneak out. I didn't need anyone to know about Coby and I meeting up. He was sitting on the bench looking at the ocean.
                          
"Coby I-." 
                          
"Let me talk first. I don't want for us to be distant with each other. I love you too much to lose you. I just don't think Law is the right one for you. Think about this for a second Mia. He's the Surgeon of Death. He'll probably lash out and kill you one day. He even turned his back on you and became a Shichibukai. He was working with the Marines while being a pirate. Doesn't that mean something to you," he asked. 
                          
"He was getting more information about Vergo and by the way you're in no position to talk. You may not be a Shichibukai, but you are a Marine whose been working with me and my brother for a while now," I say. 
                          
"Not intentionally. Mia come on. You should be with me." 
                          
"No! Being with you would be like turning my back on being a pirate. It would be like giving up my dreams just to become something my grandpa always wanted me to be. If I'm with you, I'll be miserable and I won't be around my brother and the people who actually care about me." 
                          
"But you'll have a better lifestyle. You'll have anything you want," he said. 
                          
"Listen to yourself. Now you're just making excuses. I have everything I could possibly want and if this is the lifestyle I choose then that's what I'm happy with. Coby, we'll always be friends, you have to understand. I just can't see myself with someone like you. It's like it's a crime and punishment," I say. He looks down, upset with what I have said. I walk over to him and kiss him. "Please understand that this is what's best for me. You'll always be my friend," I say. His eyes were widened and I walked away from him going to my house. I looked back at him before making my final move and he was staring over the ocean and had a smile on his face.
