Chapter 2 - The Devil is in my Closet
Lorin

Thank God mom isn't home when I make it there. Now, I can actually make myself something to eat and sleep on my bed! Good thing it's the weekend so I can get plenty of sleep. I head into the kitchen to see what I can make.
Of course, it's empty. Guess I'm going out to eat, because I don't feel like shopping without a car.
I head over to the local diner and pick a booth in the back.
"Hey hun, what can I get for ya? The usual?" The waitress says to me.
"Yeah, Julie, that'd be great!" I come here so often I've made sort of friends with the head waitress.
"Don't worry about it hun, it'll be out shortly."
This little diner has been in this town for about 30 years. It's a cute, quaint place, family owned, that has the best homemade food. My parents never really cooked for me, so I guess I don't have anything concrete to compare it to, but I'm still confident that it's the best. All vegetables from the nearby farmers market, and all the meat from our towns best butcher. Fresh, healthy, and made with love. It's one of the places that all the elderly folk come to on Saturday morning for one dollar endless coffee. To be fair, I'm usually here on Saturday morning as well, playing cards with the seniors. Hey, I mean, I don't have to be home and coffee is cheap!
I sit back and put my headphones in. It's always peaceful here.
Shit. Except today, of course. It's Friday! Practically the entire high school comes here after school! How could I have forgotten! Whatever. I'll just keep my headphones in and deal with it. This day is already fucked up, might as well add a bit more fuckery before bedtime.
I hear the plate set down before me, so I smile and nod at the waitress before digging in. Mmm, french fries and a french roast sandwich, my favourite! As soon as I bite into my sandwich, I feel someone slide into the seat next to me. Immediately, I scoot over closest to the wall.
"Woah, easy there champ. We're just checking in on ya." Ah, yes. Enki. How could I have forgotten about him and his sidekick Modi.
"I swear you two are stalking me." I say while throwing a fry in my mouth. I can keep eye contact with Modi now, at least. After what happened in the locker room, I do feel more comfortable around him. Still nothing with Enki, though. For some reason he terrifies me. Though, maybe terrify isn't the right feeling. He just makes me feel... something.
"Maybe we are." Enki says while stealing one of my fries. "What's this?" He asks while examining it. I laugh a little bit, he just reminded me of Jack from The Nightmare Before Christmas.
"Uh, a fry?" And I thought these two couldn't get and weirder.
He takes a tiny bite of the fry and his eyes pop. "I was just joking little Lorin. Oh my Gods As- I mean Modi- I forgot how good these are!" He takes another fry off my plate and hands it to Modi. They both start digging into my plate like it was theirs in the first place.
I roll my eyes and say, "Well, go right ahead! It's not like I was eating or anything."
"Oh, you can still eat. We'll share." Damn Enki and that smart mouth of his. I reach over and grab my sandwich before scooting back into my corner, keeping distance between our bodies. It's still overwhelming to be in his presence. I just want to finish eating and get out of here!
Julie walks by and gives me a curious eye. She mouths, Do I need to come over there and get rid of them? I just shake my head at her. As much as these two are an annoyance to me, they are relatively harmless. Besides, the jocks that were picking on me at the gym are glaring daggers at me from across the restaurant, so the two new boys are kind of keeping me safe.
