In the year 2067, tensions between China and the USA spark a worldwide war which all but decimates the planet. Within an instant, billions are killed in a fiery inferno as dozens of nuclear and H bombs find their targets. In 2072, a mere five years after the initial strike, the death count stands at over 5 billion. The remaining population now fight over lands untouched by the annihilation. All hope is seemingly lost for the human race.

Then a miracle occurs...

A rift in space is discovered nearby Earth's moon leading to the garden planet now known as Kondarr II (See Image below).

The planet is practically identical to Earth but seemingly uninhabited (there are remnants of a civilization, but no intelligent life is found)

The planet is practically identical to Earth but seemingly uninhabited (there are remnants of a civilization, but no intelligent life is found). In June of 2079 the first manned shuttle is sent through the rift and arrives safely on the new planet. If it weren't for man's near-annihilation of their home planet, the discovery of Kondarr II would be classified as Human's biggest impact in the Universe. But optimists choose not to dwell too hard on the past and see Kondarr II as being a chance to start anew. Three months after the first humans touched down, a large convoy of pioneers descend onto the planet and begin work on humanity's first extra-terrestrial colony. The first few weeks pass by without incident but before long, the planet's wildlife starts to interfere. Large creature wander into campsites and construction zones, curious about the new developments. Although they seem to mean no harm, their presence tends to create mass panic. The settlers aren't exactly used to seeing animals that aren't caged up. After the first three months, reports indicate that 22 people have gone missing or have been killed; all suspected, due to local fauna attacks.

The second Ship arrives five months later with more supplies, tools, workers and now also military soldiers. The leaders of Earth finally agreed to stop fighting and instead, work together to establish life on this new planet, which is brimming with plenty of land and prospect. After the first year, Kondarr II has a semi-operational colony which is self-sustaining and peaceful. The situation on Earth continues to deteriorate as skirmishes break out between rebel nations and the military- both of whom seek to gain control of what little resources Earth has to offer.

As life flourishes on one planet, it is suffocated on another.
