"How exactly do you now where to go?" Naruto asked as they skillfully hopped from tree to tree. They were making great progress, the temperature only growing colder the closer they came to Sound Village territory.

"Because I've been there before," Erika said. "They have an underground hideout there. One I'm sure they believe me to be oblivious of. They're there, I'm sure of it."

"How do  you know about it?" Hibiki asked from next to her.

"I found it when I was little," she replied carefully. "There are two entrances. One is entirely unguarded."

"Why the heck were you there when you were little?" Naruto asked in confusion, refusing to drop the subject. "That village was established by Orochimaru."

"I'm aware," she answered good-naturedly. "But I don't think the answer to that question needs to be revealed yet. Time will do that for us. All we need to be aware of now is that Sasuke hinted in at Kakashi being in an ill state when he took Katsu. Due to what knowledge I have, we needed to create a strong antidote to counteract that poison. An antidote of which there is only one kind in existence. That is why we visited Sakura in the Sand Village. For guidance, support, and needed materials. Now that we have the completed anti-poison, we must get to Kakashi as swiftly as possible. For all we know... he's already gone." Her eyes burned with rare tears.

"We cannot think that way," Naruto said, pace noticeably picking up. "Optimism can be the most useful weapon in battle if we only remain faithful to it."

"Right there with ya, brother!" Hibiki said, punching Naruto's shoulder. "I've been telling them that for years!"

Erika nodded once. Naruto's spirit was becoming contagious. Adrenaline was beginning to pound through her veins. He was so different from her, yet they all possessed the same desire to retrieve Katsu and Kakashi. In that way, they were exactly the same.

"The hidden entrance is a tunnel beneath a set of three boulders. It ends under a tile in the prison cells. My advice is to get in and get out as fast as possible. I have a... special... jutsu planned that will help us escape almost instantly. It's one of a kind and can only be used once, so it has to be perfect. It's a lot to hope for, but we must avoid being discovered at all costs. I know optimism is important Naruto," she added in a whispery voice. "But going in, we can't expect to encounter unicorns and rainbows. We have to be prepared for anything. And that includes the worst."

Naruto nodded his understanding. "I'm ready."

"How close are we?" Hibiki asked, his voice now lacking all previous humor.

Erika carefully surveyed their surroundings. "About five minutes."

They had crossed the Sound Village's border. A journey most other ninjas would not be able to complete in less than a night. But they were in a desperate rush. And they were willing to put their lives on the line to complete the particular mission. That's what made them a unique kind of ninja. That's what made them true shinobi.
