I was biting my nails in anticipation.

Austin had called me and told me that him and his siblings will be playing in a music bar next Saturday. That's not what got me biting my nails.

Austin wanted to bring my parents with me. To meet them.

This could go very wrong.

I still remember the last conversation I had with my parents and told them that Austin had invited us all to hear him play.

"Who is this Austin you always tell us about?" Dad had said, right after I mentioned Austin was gonna play in a bar "Doesn't sound like a responsible fella!"

"That's right!" Mom had baked him up, not even giving me room to reply "A musician... Those are problematic, Angie..." I cringed at the mention of that nickname "You should look yourself someone more respectable-"

"You mean, someone who does what you want?" I had snapped at them, furious "And, do not call me 'Angie'!" However, my mother had paid no attention to what I said. In fact...

"See? He's already changing you into something you're not!" Noticed how she said 'something' instead of 'someone'?

"If it was for me, you'd not be invited, but Austin insisted. Come or not, I give the same" With that last sentence, I got up from the table and left to my apartment.

"Angel? Angel!" Austin's voice pulled me out of my daydream and made me focus on him. He was smiling at me, a little worry, but smiling nonetheless "Are you alright?"

"Me? Shouldn't I ask you that question?" I tried to diverse the topic from me. Austin simply chuckled, placing better his guitar.

"I've done it more times that you can imagine, Angel..." I swear I melt everytime he calls me like that "Actually, I want you to meet my brother, Will" That peaked my curiosity. Austin commented to me that he has several siblings, all in different ages (his father is a player), but Will is the closest to his age "William!! Get your dam podex here!" I raised an eyebrow at him, but said nothing.

A blonde guy with blue eyes stepped out and I definitely recognised him as Austin's brother. There's one thing that Austin and his siblings shared, and that was the blonde hair and blue eyes. That's how I realised Kayla was one of them. Although their facials were different, they all share that air of brightness around them that made them shine or stand out. I like that.

"Would you relax, Austin?" Kayla's voice came along with the new guy (William, I imagine), playing with the strings on her bass.

"Kayla is right. You're gonna get a nervous attack..." William teased him, earning a smack from Austin "Will Solace, this knucklehead's brother" he pulled his hand out and I shook it.

"Angelina Prewett, the knucklehead's girlfriend" I followed the game for a few minutes, smirking. Will laughed with me.

"Well, alright... I suggest you go take a seat, because we're gonna begin soon..." I nodded and wished everyone good luck, but not before I say goodbye properly to Austin.

"You're not gonna run away before I see you play, right?" I mocked hom, earning an dry chuckle from him "You're gonna do great..."

"Oh, that's not why I'm worried about" I frowned at his words, not understanding "I'm worried about what you'll think of my performance..."

"Austin, honey... I've seen you rehearse, you guys are great!" I beamed at him, trying to comfort him "You have nothing to worry about me, I promise..." He took it as cue to kiss my cheek and smirked.

"Yes, I do..." he whispered in my ear, before leaning back "Tell your parents, if they show up, that I need to talk to them at the end..." With that, Austin followed his siblings behind the stage to get ready. I, on the other hand, walked back to the crowd and tried to sit down in one of the 'reserved' tables. I sat there, bouncing my knee once in a while. I was more nervous about my parents showing up than Austin and his siblings playing.

"Can you believe how disrespectful are young people nowadays?!" I heard my mother's screech. She doesn't talk. She screech when in public places. I sighed and got up to greet them "This better be good!" she snapped at me, sitting down with my father in the same table I chose.

"Nice to see you too, mother" I muttered under my breath, sitting down again. Just in that moment, the owner of the place came out, with a mic in hand, and directed to the crowd, announcing the performance of AHB (the name of the band... No idea why Austin decided to call it like that, but I'm not judging). They played several covers of great songs, to place the mood. The crowd loved them, though my parents were criticizing every single thing they were doing. The clothes. The hair. The music. The posture. Their job. In one point, Will came out of the drums (he plays them) and had some sort of stand-up performance. Hilarious! My parents kept frowning the whole way, again.

~oOo~

"OK!" Austin shouted through the microphone, smirking "Well, we've been honored to have such an amazing crowd tonight-" Cue to screams from it "-but, we're playing the last song of this concert!" Several hisses, booed and gasps of disappointment were heard "This song we're gonna play now is special..." he began playing a few chords, to set the mood "So, I wanna dedicate it to once special person as well..." he spotted me and winked in my direction before starting to sing.

Forever can never be long enough for me
To feel like I've had long enough with you
Forget the world now, we won't let them see
But there's one thing left to do
Now that the weight has lifted
Love has surely shifted my way
Marry me
Today and every day
Marry me
If I ever get the nerve to say "Hello" in this cafe
Say you will
Mm-hmm
Say you will
Mm-hmm
Together can never be close enough for me
To feel like I am close enough to you
You wear white and I'll wear out the words "I love you"
And you're beautiful
Now that the wait is over
And love has finally shown her my way
Marry me
Today and every day
Marry me
If I ever get the nerve to say "Hello" in this cafe
Say you will
Mm-hmm
Say you will
Mm-hmm
Promise me
You'll always be
Happy by my side
I promise to
Sing to you
When all the music dies
And marry me
Today and everyday
Marry me
If I ever get the nerve to say "Hello" in this cafe
Say you will
Mm-hmm
Say you will
Mm-hmm
Marry me
Mm-hmm

I was left speechless and teary. That's why he wanted my parents to be here tonight! I forgot about everything else around me and walked to him (more like I ran to him) and flung into his arms, hugging him tight.

"YES!!" I shouted over the noise of the crowd, before kissing him. I didn't care about facing my parents later. I didn't care about if I was making a fool out of myself. I could feel Austin's smile against my lips.

Everything was perfect.
