"MISS MERRYWEATHER!" Miss Heliotrope shriek wakes up at a startle, I sit bolt up and breathing heavily, "what are you doing still in bed?!" she asks,
"Curing world hunger, now leave a scientist to do her job " I say sarcastically,
"You have 10 minutes!" she shouts, ignoring my last statement,
"Okay, I'm awake" I say swinging my legs over the bed,
"Sir Benjamin is sending a cartage so hurry, we shall not leave him waiting" she then rushes out the door. She's not usually this snappy but this whole thing has been stressful on her, she's going to be out of a job and she's been here since I was 7.
I crawl out of bed like a wounded animal, and hobble to the outfit I picked out last night. A plan white, long sleeved top and a pair of black skinny jeans, a simple outfit that Miss Heliotrope will surely disapprove of but it's a long journey so she'll have to live with it.
I pack the last few things that I need then take one last look around my room, or should I say old room. Sighing, I walk out the house. I nod at each servant as I walk down the concrete steps, all while Miss Heliotrope stands at the bottom of the steps looking impatient and unimpressed by my out fit choose, just as I had suspected.
A black carriage pulls up next to us. A bolding man with a bum chin smiles in my direction,
"You must be Miss Blake then" he grins, I smile back no adult ever calls me by my first name and I quite like the fact he did, "Hop in, we have a long journey, ladies" he smiles, goofily. We do as he wishes and ready our selves for the ride.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Miss Merryweather, get inside this instant!" Miss Heliotrope hisses, I pull my feet, that I had resting cross legged out the window, back in with a grumble. Sometimes she gets on my nerves, all she's done for the two hours we've been in this carriage is sew, what on earth could take that long to sew?
We enter a practically rough part of the road and making me fly from my seat into the one in front with a yelp,
"Miss Merryweather, are you quite alright?" she asks concern evident in her voice,
"I'm fine" I grumble as I sit back up, feeling my lip a little I can tell it's swollen,
"Are you sure you're okay?" Miss Heliotrope asks, not being convinced, I nod in reassurement and sit back in my seat. The ride carries on to be bumpy and uncomfortable for the rest of the ride, until we roll to a surprisingly smooth stop.
I stick my head out the window to see that we have came to a big stone wall with a black gate,
"Get in here girl!" Miss Heliotrope hisses,
"I think we have arrive, Tropey" I grin, she hates it when I call her that, "Do you think I'll be able to go stretch my legs?" I ask, no waiting for a response I rip open the carriage door and walk towards the woods, ignoring Miss Heliotrope shouting for me to come back.
I start to pick up one the desperateness in her voice as she screams for me, which is odd because I expected her to be annoyed more then anything. I glance back to see two boys dressed in dark clothing chasing after me, and three others in the carriage with Miss Heliotrope. I pick up the paste into a run, determined to loose them.
I can't leave Tropey to fend for herself, as annoying as I find her, I can't leave her to die. I take a sharp 180 turn and run back for Miss Heliotrope, sure she's annoying but I cant leave her to fend for herself against three beefy looking men.
The turn must have court the man following me off guard because I get to the carriage way before them. I pull the first man out of the carriage door which he was leaning up against with ease seeing as he didn't expect it.
His grunt as he hit the floor caught the attention of the two that where in the carriage, who grin devilishly at me as they step out. Their height and general dark aura intimidating me as Miss Heliotrope shouting for me to run, I turn to see that they have surrounded me, the two that followed me having caught up.
"What do you want?!" I ask making them chuckle,
"Aww, Princesses is feeling feisty" one smirks, I turn in his direction and recognise him as the boy that came uninvited to my fathers funeral.
Hearing the carriage start to move again and Miss Heliotrope shrieking for me I decide to take a gamble. I slam my knee into the funeral crasher's friends crotch and make a run through the space made in the circle they had formed around me as he drops to the ground in pain.
I run as fast as I can and jump on to the back of the carriage, I turn and smirk as the boys run after me. The gate slams shut after us and I grin even wider as I wave at them like the queen would, the funeral boy scrams in frustrating as he clutches on to his bowler hat with one hand and onto the gate with the other.
We pull up to a beautiful old house with green plants walking up the stone exterior and walls that look like they're dissolving. We roll to a stop and I jump off the back and make my way to Miss Heliotropes side of the carriage, as soon as she see's me relief washes over her face and she pulls me into a tight hug,
"Miss Merryweather, what on earth where you thinking?!" she asks,
"I wasn't going to leave you to die, Miss Heliotrope" I laugh,
"Hello." a gruff voice interrupts our moment, we turn in the direction and see a handsome man with slick black hair and deep bags under his eyes, "My name is Sir Benjamin, welcome to Moonacre" he greets formally then enters back into the darkness of the mansion, "This is Wrolf" he introduces a big black dog, he must have see the uneasy look on Miss Heliotropes face because he adds, "Don't worry, you're a friend of a Merryweather there for you are a friend of his, no harm will come to you" he then turns and walks towards a series of stairs,
"No harm?" Miss Heliotrope chuckles dryly, "We have already been attacked by a gang of brutes-"
"Miss Heliotrope" he interrupts rudely, "I would love to hear about you adventures another time" he says, emotionlessly, "Aren't you leaving anyway?" he asks, this man is very rude, I like him.
"Well, no I need to say with Blake until things settle down" she states, now she's being rude too, inviting herself into someone else's home, he must be rubbing off on her, good
"Very well" he states, seemingly not caring in the slightest, "Your room is down the corridor, three doors to your right" he says, nonchalantly,
"Thank you, come along Miss Merryweather" she smiles, holding her hand out for me to take, I am just about to when Benjamin stops me,
"No, your room is this way" he informs, Miss Heliotrope's smile falls and her hand drops down to the side,
"I shall see you soon then, Miss Merryweather" she says, the strides down the corridor. I follow Uncle Benjamin up the stairs to a room with various painting and a tiny door leading up to by a set of three steps,
"It's just through that door" he says pointing to the door, that I had assumed to be a cupboard, "goodnight" he grumbles as he returns to the top of the curved stairs,
"Uncle Benjamin" I call for him, he turns to me with an unreadable expression, "thank you for letting me stay" I thank, he nod in acknowledgement and hurries down the stairs.
Sighing slightly, I push open the small door and duck in to the room. I stand up straight and look around the room in ore. The room is the big, but not overly big like my old one, it has baby blue walls and a big bed with a golden head board a fire place with a mirror hanging on top of it a big wardrobe and two matching bedside tables. What really sells it thought is the celling, its dome shaped with the stars painted on it in so much detail it almost looks real. I love it.
