When I woke up, the first thing I noticed was that Frosch had somehow escaped my iron grip in the night. He probably went to Rogue. Speaking of which, he never opened that present Sting got him. I looked over at the dresser and it still sat there, unopened. He put it there before he left last night. Maybe I should go give it to him before we leave this morning.
Rogue was going to go with us to pack our stuff from our apartments and help dig through the rubble for anything that wasn't destroyed. Only him, Arana, Risley, Frosch and I were going, but that's not until after breakfast, so I should head down. The clock read 8:00 am.
I grabbed the present. Might as well see if I could give this back to Rogue. I didn't need to get dressed, I fell asleep in my clothes from staying up too late last night. I went to open the door, but when I did, it got caught on something.
"Ow."
Or someone...
I was surprised when Rogue opened my door, rubbing his head with one hand and holding Frosch in the other. "That's a great way to greet someone in the morning, Kagura."
I blushed a little from embarrassment. "Sorry..."
He smiled, making me feel better. "It's fine." I walked out the door and we started walking down the hallway towards the main part of the guild. "Where were you going in such a hurry, anyway?"
"Oh." I held out the present to him. "You never opened the present that Sting got you yesterday. I wanted to give it to you before breakfast."
Rogue took the small box. "I guess I'll open it tonight."
I looked at him. "You want to open it now, don't you?"
We looked at each other for a moment. "Yes..." He finally said.
We stopped walking for a moment so he could open the box. He gave me Frosch as he tore open the wrapping paper. He opened the box and he smiled.
"What's inside it?"
He pulled out a grape flavored lollipop. Frosch reached out for it. "Fro wants to eat grapes!"
"He's so cute..." I mumbled.
"What was that?" Rogue asked.
"It's just... you have the cutest exceed in the world..." I shyly admitted.
He chuckled and Frosch smiled. "Fro thinks so too!"
Rogue chuckled again, giving him the candy.
"Why are you giving Frosch your birthday present?"
He pointed at Frosch. "That's why."
I looked down at Frosch and he was happily licking the lollipop, smiling like a little kid. It was the cutest thing that I'd seen him do so far. I squealed.
"So cute..."
"Did you say something, Rogue?"
He blushed a little. "N-no..."
I smiled. "You're a nice guy."
He smiled back.
"Let's go eat breakfast, Rogue."

I woke up a little bit early, knowing that Sting always wakes up before everyone else. I decided not to wake Kagura, as well as I thought I would leave my cloak behind until after breakfast and after going to Sting's office. I already ate. Just a small, quick breakfast so I wouldn't keep Sting waiting.
