Isabella
(Four years Later)
"Are you ready?" Bats questioned walking towards the swirling vortex on the wall. He had told me earlier about how important this entire situation was but currently I just don't really care.
"I don't see why I have to do this." I complained while leaning against his chair at his desk. Tall dark and handsome ignored me still typing away on the control panel by the zetabeam. "Seriously Bruce, you know I don't really play well with others." I continued but to no avail. He wasn't going to acknowledge my whining and to be completely honest I wouldn't have either; but that's not gonna stop me.
"Plus, Last time I was publicly active I was still under Selina's orders. I was known as a Villain then, a pretty popular foe might I add, and no one's gonna trust a Villain." I sighed crossing my arms feeling the leather crinkle underneath my fingertips. Same old same old for me with my leather gloves; they were still rigged to produce my signature claws and were strong enough to withstand direct hits with my strength. My look has changed a little bit, not trying for the doom and gloom anymore; nope I spiced it up a little adding in some royal blue instead of all black.
However, I never did change my name.
Once a cat girl, always a cat girl I suppose.
"You see that's where you're wrong Isabella." he cut off my needless thinking and came to grab hold of my shoulders. "You're not a villain, you are my daughter." He stared into my eyes, and I felt my uneasiness starting to fade away.
Bats and I had gotten extremely close over the past few years. From frequent training sections, to tutoring on late nights, he's become one of my rocks in this chaos. The closest thing I know to a father. Though living in the Wayne estate has proven to be an amazing experience, we still have our ups and downs. Living here for a couple years has completely turned my life around, being in contact with Dick, Bruce, and Alfred, they've become my family, my life.
During my first night here, I had met Bruce's adoptive son, Richard Grayson. At the time he had seemed like nothing more than an annoying brat I would have to deal with; however, over time, I found myself growing more and more attached to him and his annoying personality. Thus, earning him the title of best friend and second rock. I found later on that Dick was actually Robin the boy wonder, Batman's sidekick.
Now after all these years, only getting to go on silent patrols with dad; I'm apparently joining Dick's young justice team; Bruce's orders. Not gonna lie, I'm sorta secretly dreading meeting his oh so 'special' team that he's always ditching me for. Honestly, I'm only nervous because when I go out of my way to try to be nice with others, I always come across rude and mean. No matter the words I say, it always comes out wrong.
I'm used to either giving orders or taking them. Selina was my mother figure and that was our relationship, taking or giving orders. It was troublesome enough trying to figure out how to converse with Alfred and Dick on a normal basis; Bruce and I had an understanding.
"Whatever you say Bats." I sighed giving him a small less confident smile that he nodded at. He gave me a smile in return before patting my shoulders.
"Good, you're set in the computer's main frame. The Zetatube can transport you anywhere there is a portal. Which you already know." He focused back on me while putting his bat eared mask on.
I gave a nod and stepped forward glancing from him to the portal. He gave a nod, and I stepped in sensing him follow. Everything was black and gave me a fuzzy feeling until I heard the faint sound of a computerized voice.
"Recognized, Black Cat, B24. Recognized, Batman, Bo2." It finished as I materialized alongside the Dark Knight. I felt the overwhelming urge to turn and make sure Bruce was behind me, even if my senses confirmed he was. Confident, he took long strides passed me and took his place standing beside Red Tornado, Green Arrow and Flash.
