Johnson conversations

Just as we're about to go out the door someone knocks on it.

Me and Shawn exchange a look before I open the door wide, only to see a girl on the other side.

"Camila?" Shawn asks as he pulls her into a tight hug.

"What are you doing here?" He continues, this time looking at me, with a look that says 'sorry'.

No dairy queen today I suppose.

"I came to see you, dummie! Oh you must be Lydia! I've heard so much about you." She says once they pull away.

Shawn talks about me?

Once she's inside I close the door behind her quietly, while her and Shawn go to sit on the love seat, leaving me alone on the couch.

Seriously? This sucks.

"Now what do you want to go do?" She asks just as Shawn's phone starts to ring.

"I've got to go take this." He says before getting up and rushing out the door.

It just got really awkward, really fast.

"So..." I say after about ten minutes of just sitting there in awkward silence.

"I think I'm just going to leave. Tell Shawn I said bye." Camila says before standing up and walking out.

"Uh, okay then..." I mumble once she's out the door.

Shawn has been gone a while though...Maybe I should go see if I can find him.

"Hey mom? I think I'm going to go outside." I holler into the kitchen while trying to find my jacket.

"Take your brothers!" She yells back and I cringe.

Ugh!

It doesn't take long for the two little rascals to rush into the living room dressed and ready to go.

"I can't find my jacket guys." I tell them and they immediately go on a search.

They must really want to go outside.

After ten minutes of searching I give up, my jacket is nowhere to be found.

"I can't find it guys, I'm sorry." I tell them causing their faces to fall.

"Why can't you just wear Shawn's? He left his in the kitchen." Nathan says before heading into the kitchen and coming out with Shawn's tan jacket.

He wouldn't mind, would he?
No he wouldn't, were best friends after all and it's just a jacket.

I think before I put on my boots and slip on the jacket, it's too big, but it's warm(and it smells like Shawn) that's what's important.

Me and the boys walk outside and they immediately start tackling one another while I search for Shawn.

After a while of searching I start to think he left with Camila or something.

But I keep on, and head into the woods where we used to play, after telling the boys to stay put.

I takes me a while to remember how to get there, due to being extremely directionally challenged, but eventually I make it.

I make it to the clearing with the large boulder in the middle. Shawn and I's secret place, we swore that we would never tell a soul about it.

I hope he hasn't broken that promise.

I hear him talking heatedly with someone on the other side of the rock.

He must still be on the phone.

I get closer so I can hear it, but he can't see me, eavesdrop if you will.

"I can't tell her, not with everything that's going on in our lives right now."

"Because right now, she's the only thing that's stayed the same, the only thing keeping me sane, Is her."

"I really need to go man, I left her waiting, we were about to go on a date."

"Yeah, a date...I don't think she thought of it that way though."

"Whatever, bye Johnson."

Wow, I didn't realize Shawn, well I suspected, that he had feelings for Camila, I was hoping he didn't.

Time to make myself known.
I walk around to the other side of the rock loudly so he knows something's coming.

"There you are!" I exclaim once he comes into my field of vision.

"I was starting to get a little worried...It didn't help that Camila left shortly after you." I say mumbling the last part.

"Camila left?" He questions stepping towards me.

"Yeah, quite a while ago actually. I had half a mind telling me I was gonna find you two making out in a corner somewhere." I force a laugh, to which he does the same.

"Nope, was just on the phone with Johnson." He assures me, even though I already know.

"Heh, really? What were you guys talking about?" I question, wondering if he'll tell me.

"Nothing really, just about the next time we can meet up." He lies and I frown.

"Oh? And when would that be? I love it when you guys are all together. I wouldn't mind seeing the guys myself..." I unconsciously add.

"Maybe I'll take you with me one time..." He states causing my face to light up.

"Really?!" I exclaim and he nods.

"Yeah, sure. Now do you still want to go to Dairy Queen?" He asks me, to which I shake my head.

"No, I think I'm just going to go somewhere with Brett.
It looked like you and Camila really wanted to hang out, and Brett asked me last week if I wanted to go out.
I said no because I knew you were going to be here and I want to spend as much time with you as possible. But it's okay, I'll see you when you get back anyway." I inform, trying, only slightly, to get him jealous.

He looks slightly taken aback, but quickly recovers.

"Brett?I didn't know you guys were friends..." He asks curiously.

"Yeah, I hang out with him sometimes, he's kind of cool. I think he has a bit of a crush on me. I hate to think I'm leading him on, but I already have a crush on someone else, and I don't think it's going to go away anytime soon." I confess.

"Oh..." He says looking dejected.

"Well I think I'd rather just go to Dairy Queen with you, Camila can wait." He says causing me to smile.

"If that's okay with you..." He questions.

"I'd like that very much actually." I state.

On the outside I may only be smiling, but on the inside I'm jumping up and down like a maniac.

Dairy Queen it is.
