Chapter 9 - A New Addition

Start from the beginning

"Thank you so much. I'll probably be back in an hour, don't worry I'll get Cherry to drive me home." I said opening my door and stepping out of the car.

"Okay, don't get yourself killed." He said jokingly and I smiled at his attempt to lighten up the mood.

"I'll try my best." I answered before slamming the door shut and pretending to make my way to the entrance of the club. After I heard him drive away, I changed my path and started walking down the sidewalk towards Jackson's house. He didn't live far but I was a bit jumpy when walking to his apartment during the night. After walking for 5 or so minutes I finally arrived in front of the dark alley you had to go through in order to get to Jackson's apartment building.

I stood at the entrance and looked ahead realizing it was so dimly lit that I couldn't even see if it was empty. I grabbed my phone and dialled 911 letting my finger hover over the call button incase anyone or anything decided to attack me. I took hesitant steps into the dark alley deciding that running would be a bad idea because I'd only get more scared since I'd start to imagine that something was chasing me. I heard a loud noise come from a few feet in front of me and I jumped in fear letting out a squeal. After looking closer I didn't see anything so I kept walking deciding to pick up my pace and before I knew it I was out of the dark alley and releasing a sigh of relief as I made my way up the steps and to the door that lead to Jackson's apartment.

I knocked a couple times and as soon as the door swung open I walked inside. I gave Jackson a quick hug before taking off my shoes and following him to the living room. Cherry sat on the couch with a thick blanket wrapped around her shoulders and body, a cup of tea between her hands and makeup running down her cheeks. I ran forward and enveloped her into a warm hug.

"What happened?" I asked once I finally pulled away.

Cherry let out a shaky breath before she began to talk. "Do you know club 501? The one about 10 minutes away from here?" She asked me with a sullen look on her face. I nodded my head in response.

"The strip club?" I asked immediately hoping this conversation wasn't going to go where I was predicting it would.

"Yeah." She responded quietly taking another deep breath before continuing. I turned and looked at Jackson who was paying as much attention to Cherry as I was and I realized this was also his first time hearing what happened.

"Well I've been working there for the last couple of weeks because I needed some quick money and my job at the mall wasn't paying enough. It was either stripping or dealing drugs, and I chose stripping, at least it's not illegal." She said and everything began to fall into place. She was working at a strip club, that explained why she'd been getting drunk so much over the last few weeks. She wasn't even done the story yet and I already felt my heart breaking for her.

"Anyways, today some guy came and he said he wanted a private show from me and he would give me an 100$ tip so obviously I accepted...Everything was okay but then he had a few drinks and he started to get a bit aggressive so I went to leave the private room but he wouldn't let me." By know fresh tears were running down her face and I hugged her tightly trying to comfort her. "He started to undress me and I kept telling him to stop, that I wasn't going to have sex with him but he wasn't listening. I tried to fight him off but he was too strong. Before he had the chance to do anything some guy ran into the room and got him off me. I guess he heard me scream or something... I ran out of the club and got into a cab before coming here, it was the only place I would think of." She finished and I felt a tear roll down my cheek. I wiped it away quickly wanting to be strong for her. I looked at Jackson and he had his jaw clenched tightly along with his fists. His body was shaking with anger.
