"My mom was my best friend. I wouldn't be the person I am now if it wasn't for her. It's never going to be the same without her. We'll see if I can hold the ties down back at the ranch. I love you mom." I said with a tear slipping down my cheek while I place a red rose on my mothers casket. I was the last to speak before she was lowered into the ground, to never return. I walked back to my dad and older brother who was with his seven month pregnant wife. One life leaves this earth making room for one more to enter.

As soon as she the last bit of dirt was patted down, my family and I left to go home. We were stopped several times by friends and family saying how sorry they were for our loss. To be honest I was sick of it. My mother wasn't gone, she was just resting, permanently. We finally made it to our truck and drove home. When I got out of the truck I saw Sawyer standing there with a handful of flowers. Not just any flowers, Tiger lilies, my moms favorite flower. I ran into his open arms and we just hugged. All un-fallen tears washed over my face.

"I'm so sorry I couldn't make it to the funeral, but I got here as soon as I could." He said squeezing me harder. Sawyer and his family were on a vacation in Colorado and couldn't make it back to Riverton by the time the funeral was.

"I'm just glad you're here now. Thank you." I told him before letting him go and leading him inside. We walked into the living room and sat on the couches letting silence surround us. I can't believe this just happened.
